Psalms 19
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork;
Mai marelui muzician, un psalm al lui David. Cerurile vestesc gloria lui Dumnezeu și întinderea cerului arată lucrarea mâinilor sale.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night revealeth knowledge;
O zi rostește altei zile această cuvântare și o noapte arată această cunoaștere altei nopți.
3 There is no speech, there are no words, neither is their voice heard.
Nu este nici cuvântare nici limbaj unde sunetul lor să nu fie auzit.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tent for the sun,
Coarda lor a străbătut tot pământul și cuvintele lor până la marginea lumii. În ele a așezat un tabernacol soarelui,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.
Care iese din încăperea sa ca un mire și se bucură de asemenea ca un viteaz care aleargă o cursă.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
Ieșirea lui este de la marginea cerului și circuitul lui până la marginile acestuia și nu este nimic ascuns de arșița lui.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Legea DOMNULUI este desăvârșită, convertind sufletul; mărturia DOMNULUI este sigură, înțelepțind pe cel simplu.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Statutele DOMNULUI sunt drepte, bucurând inima; porunca DOMNULUI este pură, luminând ochii.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the ordinances of the LORD are true, they are righteous altogether;
Teama de DOMNUL este curată, dăinuind pentru totdeauna; judecățile DOMNULUI sunt adevărate și drepte în întregime.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Mai de dorit sunt ele decât aurul, da, decât mult aur pur; mai dulci decât mierea, chiar decât picurul din faguri.
11 Moreover by them is Thy servant warned; in keeping of them there is great reward.
Mai mult, prin ele este servitorul tău avertizat; și în ținerea lor este mare răsplată.
12 Who can discern his errors? Clear Thou me from hidden faults.
Cine își poate înțelege greșelile? Curăță-mă de greșeli tainice.
13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, that they may not have dominion over me; then shall I be faultless, and I shall be clear from great transgression.
Oprește de asemenea pe servitorul tău de la păcate îngâmfate; nu le lăsa să domnească asupra mea, atunci voi fi integru și voi fi nevinovat de marea fărădelege.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before Thee, O LORD, my Rock, and my Redeemer.
Fie cuvintele gurii mele și meditația inimii mele bine primite înaintea feței tale, DOAMNE, tăria mea și răscumpărătorul meu.
