Psalms 18
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD, who spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; And he said: I love thee, O LORD, my strength.
Te amo, oh Señor, mi fortaleza.
2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower.
El Señor es mi roca, y castillo mío y mi libertador; Dios mío, fortaleza mía que me protege, en él pondré mi fe; mi escudo, la fuerza de mi salvación y mi alto refugio.
3 Praised, I cry, is the LORD, and I am saved from mine enemies.
Invocaré mi clamor al Señor, que es digno de ser alabado; así me salvaré de aquellos que están en mi contra.
4 The cords of Death compassed me, and the floods of Belial assailed me.
Las cuerdas de la muerte me rodeaban, y los torrentes del mal me aterrorizaron.
Las cuerdas del infierno me rodeaban: las redes de la muerte vinieron sobre mí. (Sheol h7585)
6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God; out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry came before Him unto His ears.
En mi tribulación invoqué al Señor, mi clamor a mi Dios; Él oyó mi voz en su santo Templo, y mi oración llegó delante de él, hasta sus oídos.
7 Then the earth did shake and quake, the foundations also of the mountains did tremble; they were shaken, because He was wroth.
Entonces surgió un gran terremoto en la tierra; y las bases de las montañas se movieron y temblaron, porque estaba enojado.
8 Smoke arose up in His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth did devour; coals flamed forth from Him.
Le salió humo por la nariz y un fuego de destrucción de su boca; carbones fueron encendidos por él.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet.
Descorrió la cortina del cielo, para que él pudiera descender; y estaba oscuro bajo sus pies.
10 And He rode upon a cherub, and did fly; yea, He did swoop down upon the wings of the wind.
Y se fue volando por el aire, montó en un ser alado: yendo rápidamente en las alas del viento.
11 He made darkness His hiding-place, His pavilion round about Him; darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
Hizo de la oscuridad su lugar secreto; su tienda de campaña, y a su alrededor eran las aguas oscuras, las espesas nubes de los cielos.
12 At the brightness before Him, there passed through His thick clouds hailstones and coals of fire.
Por el resplandor de su presencia, brotaron de sus nubes oscuras, granizo y carbones encendidos.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High gave forth His voice; hailstones and coals of fire.
Jehová hizo tronar en los cielos, y la voz del Altísimo sonó: granizo y carbones de fuego.
14 And He sent out His arrows, and scattered them; and He shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them.
Envió sus flechas, y los dispersó en todas direcciones; lanzó relámpagos y los destruyó.
15 And the channels of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils.
El fondo del Mar quedó al descubierto, y las bases del mundo fueron descubiertas, a causa de tus palabras de ira, oh Señor, por el aliento de tu boca.
16 He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
Tendió su mano desde lo alto, me tomó, y me sacó de las grandes aguas.
17 He delivered me from mine enemy most strong, and from them that hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
Él me liberó de mi fuerte enemigo, y de aquellos que estaban en mi contra, porque eran más fuertes que yo.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was a stay unto me.
Vinieron sobre mí en el día de mi angustia; pero el Señor fue mi apoyo.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
Él me sacó a un lugar amplio; él fue mi salvador porque se deleitó en mí.
20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me.
El Señor me da la recompensa conforme a mi justicia, porque mis manos están limpias delante de él.
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Porque he guardado los caminos del Señor; No he sido apartado de mi Dios por el pecado.
22 For all His ordinances were before me, and I put not away His statutes from me.
Porque todos sus decretos estaban delante de mí, y no aparté sus leyes de mí.
23 And I was single-hearted with Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
Y yo me he conducido delante de él sin tacha alguna, y me alejé del pecado.
24 Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.
Por esto el Señor me ha dado la recompensa de mi justicia, porque mis manos están limpias en sus presencia.
25 With the merciful Thou dost show Thyself merciful, with the upright man Thou dost show Thyself upright;
Sobre el que tiene misericordia, tendrás misericordia; con los íntegros serás justo;
26 With the pure Thou dost show Thyself pure; and with the crooked Thou dost show Thyself subtle.
Limpio te mostrarás para con él limpio; pero para el hombre cuyo camino es perverso, serás un juez severo.
27 For Thou dost save the afflicted people; but the haughty eyes Thou dost humble.
Porque tú eres el salvador de los que están en problemas; pero humillas a los orgullosos.
28 For Thou dost light my lamp; the LORD my God doth lighten my darkness.
Tú, oh Señor, encenderás mi lámpara; por ti, mi Dios, la oscuridad se hará brillante para mí.
29 For by Thee I run upon a troop; and by my God do I scale a wall.
Con tu ayuda atacaré al enemigo; con la ayuda de mi Dios pasaré por los muros de su ciudad.
30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him.
En cuanto a Dios, su camino es perfecto; la palabra del Señor es probada; él es un escudo para todos los que ponen su fe en él.
31 For who is God, save the LORD? And who is a Rock, except our God?
Porque ¿quién es Dios sino el Señor? ¿o quién es una Roca sino nuestro Dios?
32 The God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way straight;
Dios me ciñe de poder, guiándome de una manera perfecta.
33 Who maketh my feet like hinds', and setteth me upon my high places;
El hace mis pies ligeros como de ciervo, y me pone en lugares altos.
34 Who traineth my hands for war, so that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
Hace mis manos expertas en guerra, de modo que un arco de bronce se dobla por mis brazos.
35 Thou hast also given me Thy shield of salvation, and Thy right hand hath holden me up; and Thy condescension hath made me great.
Me diste el escudo de tu salvación; tu diestra ha sido mi sostén, y tu misericordia me ha engrandecido.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped.
Has hecho mis pasos amplios debajo de mí, para que mis pies no se resbalen.
37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them; neither did I turn back till they were consumed.
Voy detrás de mis enemigos y los alcanzo; no retrocedí hasta que todos estén vencidos.
38 I have smitten them through, so that they are not able to rise; they are fallen under my feet.
Les daré heridas, para que no puedan levantarse; cayeron debajo de mis pies.
39 For Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Porque me ceñiste de fuerzas para la batalla; has humillado a los que se oponen a mí.
40 Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, and I did cut off them that hate me.
Y que delante de mí huyeron. Así pude destruir a los que me aborrecen.
41 They cried, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but He answered them not.
Ellos estaban gritando, pero no había nadie que los ayudara, ni siquiera al Señor, pero él no les dio respuesta.
42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.
Entonces fueron aplastados como polvo delante del viento; fueron drenados como el desperdicio de las calles.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the contentions of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known serve me.
Me has hecho libre de las luchas del pueblo; me has puesto a la cabeza de las naciones; un pueblo del que no tenía conocimiento serán mis siervos.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they obey me; the sons of the stranger dwindle away before me.
Desde el momento en que mi nombre llegue a sus oídos, ellos me obedecieron: los hombres de otros países se pondrán bajo mi autoridad.
45 The sons of the stranger fade away, and come trembling out of their close places.
Gente extranjera se acobardó, saldrán de sus lugares secretos temblando de miedo.
46 The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation;
El Señor está vivo; Alabado sea mi Roca, y sea honrado el Dios de mi salvación.
47 Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me.
Es Dios quien envía castigo a mis enemigos y pone a los pueblos bajo mi dominio.
48 He delivereth me from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
Él me hace libre de mis enemigos; de los rebeldes que se alzaron que se enfrentan contra mí; me has liberado del hombre violento.
49 Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name.
Por esto yo te alabaré, oh Jehová, entre las naciones, y alabaré tu nombre.
50 Great salvation giveth He to His king; and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.
Gran salvación le da a su rey; Él tiene misericordia del rey su ungido, David, y de su simiente para siempre.
