Psalms 149

1 Hallelujah. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and His praise in the assembly of the saints.

Halleluja! Syng Herren ein ny song, hans lov i samlingi av dei gudlege!

2 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Israel glede seg i sin skapar, Sions søner frygde seg for sin konge!

3 Let them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.

Dei skal lova hans namn med dans, syngja for honom til pauka og cither.

4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in His people; He adorneth the humble with salvation.

For Herren hev hugnad i sitt folk, han pryder spaklyndte med frelsa.

5 Let the saints exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds.

Dei gudlege frygdar seg i herlegdom, dei ropar av fagnad på sine lægje.

6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

Lovsong for Gud er i deira munn, og eit tvieggja sverd i deira hand,

7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, and chastisements upon the peoples;

til å fullføra hemn yver heidningarne, refsing yver folkeslagi,

8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

til å binda deira kongar med lekkjor og deira storfolk med jarnband,

9 To execute upon them the judgment written; He is the glory of all His saints. Hallelujah.

til å fullføra fyreskriven dom yver deim. Æra er dette for alle hans trugne. Halleluja!
