Psalms 146

1 Hallelujah. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

Rühmet Jah! Rühme, meine Seele, Jahwe!

2 I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises unto my God while I have my being.

Ich will Jahwe mein Leben lang rühmen, meinem Gotte lobsingen, so lange ich bin!

3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Verlaßt euch nicht auf Fürsten, auf einen Menschen, der nicht helfen kann.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his dust; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Wenn sein Odem ausgeht, wird er wieder zu Erde; an demselben Tage ist's mit seinen Anschlägen vorbei.

5 Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Wohl dem, dessen Hilfe der Gott Jakobs ist, der seine Hoffnung setzt auf Jahwe, seinen Gott,

6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; who keepeth truth for ever;

der Himmel und Erde, das Meer und alles, was in ihnen ist, geschaffen hat, der ewig Treue hält,

7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed; who giveth bread to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners;

der den Unterdrückten Recht schafft, der den Hungrigen Brot giebt. Jahwe befreit die Gefangenen,

8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind; the LORD raiseth up them that are bowed down; the LORD loveth the righteous;

Jahwe macht die Blinden sehend; Jahwe richtet die Gebeugten auf, Jahwe hat die Frommen lieb.

9 The LORD preserveth the strangers; He upholdeth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He maketh crooked.

Jahwe behütet die Fremdlinge, erhält Waisen und Witwen, aber die Gottlosen führt er in Irrsal.

10 The LORD will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.

Jahwe wird König sein in Ewigkeit, dein Gott, o Zion, durch alle Geschlechter! Rühmet Jah!
