Psalms 143
1 A Psalm of David. O LORD, hear my prayer, give ear to my supplications; in Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteousness.
Psaume de David. Yahweh, écoute ma prière; prête l’oreille à mes supplications; exauce-moi dans ta vérité et dans ta justice.
2 And enter not into judgment with Thy servant; for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified.
N’entre pas en jugement avec ton serviteur, car aucun homme vivant n’est juste devant toi.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath crushed my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
L’ennemi en veut à mon âme, il foule à terre ma vie; il me relègue dans les lieux ténébreux, comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.
4 And my spirit fainteth within me; my heart within me is appalled.
Mon esprit défaille en moi, mon cœur est troublé dans mon sein.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy doing; I muse on the work of Thy hands.
Je pense aux jours d’autrefois, je médite sur toutes tes œuvres, je réfléchis sur l’ouvrage de tes mains.
6 I spread forth my hands unto Thee; my soul thirsteth after Thee, as a weary land. (Selah)
j’étends vers toi mes mains, et mon âme, comme une terre desséchée, soupire après toi. — Séla.
7 Answer me speedily, O LORD, my spirit faileth; hide not Thy face from me; lest I become like them that go down into the pit.
Hâte-toi de m’exaucer, Yahweh, mon esprit défaille; ne me cache pas ta face, je deviens semblable à ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
8 Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning, for in Thee do I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for unto Thee have I lifted up my soul.
Fais-moi de bonne heure sentir ta bonté, car c’est en toi que j’espère; fais-moi connaître la voie où je dois marcher, car c’est vers toi que j’élève mon âme.
9 Deliver me from mine enemies, O LORD; with Thee have I hidden myself.
Délivre-moi de mes ennemis, Yahweh, je me réfugie auprès de toi.
10 Teach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my God; let Thy good spirit lead me in an even land.
Apprends-moi à faire ta volonté, car tu es mon Dieu. Que ton bon esprit me conduise dans la voie droite!
11 For Thy name's sake, O LORD, quicken me; in Thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
À cause de ton nom, Yahweh, rends-moi la vie; dans ta justice, retire mon âme de la détresse.
12 And in Thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that harass my soul; for I am Thy servant.
Dans ta bonté, anéantis mes ennemis, et fais périr tous ceux qui m’oppriment, car je suis ton serviteur.
