< Psalms 137 >

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
Tañ’olon-tsaka e Bavele eo, ty nitoboha’ay naho nirovetse, t’ie nahatiahy i Tsiône.
2 Upon the willows in the midst thereof we hanged up our harps.
Amo sohihy añivo’eo ty nandradoradoa’ay o marovani’aio,
3 For there they that led us captive asked of us words of song, and our tormentors asked of us mirth: 'Sing us one of the songs of Zion.'
Teo ty nihalalia’ o mpanese anaio sabo, naho nipaia’ o mpampisoañ’ anaio rebeke, ami’ty hoe: Isabò o sabo’ i Tsiôneo.
4 How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a foreign land?
Aa vaho akore ty hisaboentika ty sabo’ Iehovà an-tanen’ ambahiny atoy?
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
Naho haliñoko irehe ry Ierosalaime, le angao ho kombimba ty sirako havana.
6 Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my chiefest joy.
Adono hipitek’ ami’ty lañilañiko ty lelako, naho tsy mahatiahy azo iraho, lehe tsy aonjoko ambone’ ze mahafale ahiko iaby t’Ierosalaime.
7 Remember, O LORD, against the children of Edom the day of Jerusalem; who said: 'Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.'
Tiahio ry Iehovà ty kabò’o amo nte Edomeo tañ’andro’ Ierosalaime: Rotsaho! hoe iereo, akoromaho pak’amo mananta’eo!
8 O daughter of Babylon, that art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that repayeth thee as thou hast served us.
Ry anak-ampela’ i Bavele, harotsake irehe, haha ty hañavak’azo amy nañondroha’o ama’aio.
9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.
Fale ty handrambe o anak’ajaja’oo, handretsake iareo an-damilamy eo.
