Psalms 135
1 Hallelujah. Praise ye the name of the LORD; give praise, O ye servants of the LORD,
Alleluia. Louez le nom de Yahweh, louez-le, serviteurs de Yahweh,
2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
vous qui êtes de service dans la maison de Yahweh, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu.
3 Praise ye the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praises unto His name, for it is pleasant.
Louez Yahweh, car Yahweh est bon; chantez son nom sur la harpe, car il est plein de douceur.
4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto Himself, and Israel for His own treasure.
Car Yahweh s’est choisi Jacob, il s’est choisi Israël pour en faire son héritage.
5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
Oui, je le sais, Yahweh est grand, notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that hath He done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;
Tout ce que veut Yahweh, il le fait, dans les cieux et sur la terre, dans la mer et dans tous les abîmes.
7 Who causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth forth the wind out of His treasuries.
Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre, il produit les éclairs avec la pluie, il tire le vent de ses trésors.
8 Who smote the first-born of Egypt, both of man and beast.
Il frappa jadis les premiers-nés de l’Égypte, depuis l’homme jusqu’à l’animal.
9 He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
Il fit éclater des signes et des prodiges au milieu de toi, ô Égypte, contre Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs.
10 Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings:
Il frappa des nations nombreuses, et fit mourir des rois puissants:
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, Og, roi de Basan, et tous les rois de Canaan.
12 And gave their land for a heritage, a heritage unto Israel His people.
Et il donna leur pays en héritage, en héritage à Israël, son peuple.
13 O LORD, Thy name endureth for ever; thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Yahweh, ton nom subsiste à jamais; Yahweh, ton souvenir dure d’âge en âge.
14 For the LORD will judge His people, and repent Himself for His servants.
Car Yahweh fait droit à son peuple, et il a compassion de ses serviteurs.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Les idoles des nations sont de l’argent et de l’or, ouvrage de la main des hommes.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
Elles ont une bouche et ne parlent pas; elles ont des yeux et ne voient pas.
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
Elles ont des oreilles et n’entendent pas; Il n’y a pas même un souffle dans leur bouche.
18 They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
Qu’ils leur ressemblent ceux qui les font, quiconque se confie en elles!
19 O house of Israel, bless ye the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless ye the LORD;
Maison d’Israël, bénissez Yahweh! Maison d’Aaron, bénissez Yahweh!
20 O house of Levi, bless ye the LORD; ye that fear the LORD, bless ye the LORD.
Maison de Lévi, bénissez Yahweh! Vous qui craignez Yahweh, bénissez Yahweh!
21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
Que de Sion soit béni Yahweh, qui habite Jérusalem! Alleluia!
