Psalms 132
1 A Song of Ascents. LORD, remember unto David all his affliction;
Cantique des pèlerinages. Éternel, souviens-toi de David Et de ses pénibles labeurs,
2 How he swore unto the LORD, and vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
Lui qui fit ce serment à l'Éternel Et ce voeu au Puissant de Jacob:
3 'Surely I will not come into the tent of my house, nor go up into the bed that is spread for me;
«Je n'entrerai pas dans la tente où j'habite, Et je ne monterai pas sur le lit où je repose;
4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids;
Je ne donnerai pas de sommeil à mes yeux. Ni de repos à, mes paupières,
5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob.'
Avant d'avoir trouvé une résidence pour l'Éternel, Une demeure pour le Puissant de Jacob!»
6 Lo, we heard of it as being in Ephrath; we found it in the field of the wood.
Nous avions entendu dire que l'arche était à Éphrath, Et nous l'avons trouvée dans les champs de Jaar.
7 Let us go into His dwelling-place; let us worship at His footstool.
Entrons dans la demeure de l'Éternel; Prosternons-nous devant son marchepied;
8 Arise, O LORD, unto Thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength.
Lève-toi, ô Éternel, viens dans ton lieu de repos, Toi et l'arche où ta majesté réside!
9 Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Thy saints shout for joy.
Que tes sacrificateurs se parent de leurs vêtements sacrés, Et que tes fidèles poussent des cris de joie!
10 For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed.
Pour l'amour de David, ton serviteur, Ne repousse pas la face de ton Oint!
11 The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
L'Éternel a fait à David ce serment immuable, Et il ne le révoquera point: «Je mettrai sur ton trône un fils issu de toi.
12 If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'
Si tes enfants gardent mon alliance Et les enseignements que je leur donnerai, Leurs fils aussi, à perpétuité, Seront assis sur ton trône.»
13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:
L'Éternel a fait choix de Jérusalem: Il a désiré en faire son séjour.
14 'This is My resting-place for ever; here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
«Cette ville est le lieu de mon repos, à perpétuité; Elle est la résidence que j'ai désirée.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision; I will give her needy bread in plenty.
Je remplirai de provisions ses greniers; Je rassasierai de pain ses indigents.
16 Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
Je donnerai pour vêtements à ses sacrificateurs Le salut qui vient de moi, Et ses fidèles pousseront des cris d'allégresse.
17 There will I make a horn to shoot up unto David, there have I ordered a lamp for Mine anointed.
C'est là que je ferai croître la puissance de David; C'est là que j'ai préparé un flambeau pour mon Oint.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine.'
Je couvrirai de honte ses ennemis. Et sur sa tête brillera son diadème!»
