Psalms 131

1 A Song of Ascents; of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; neither do I exercise myself in things too great, or in things too wonderful for me.

Ein Lied Davids im höhern Chor. HERR, mein Herz ist nicht hoffärtig, und meine Augen sind nicht stolz, und wandle nicht in großen Dingen, die mir zu hoch sind.

2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother; my soul is with me like a weaned child.

Wenn ich meine Seele nicht setzte und stillete, so ward meine Seele entwöhnet, wie einer von seiner Mutter entwöhnet wird.

3 O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and for ever.

Israel hoffe auf den HERRN von nun an bis in Ewigkeit!
