Psalms 118

1 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'

خداوند را ستایش کنید، زیرا او نیکوست و محبتش بی‌پایان.

2 So let Israel now say, for His mercy endureth for ever,

مردم اسرائیل بگویند: «محبت خداوند بی‌پایان است.»

3 So let the house of Aaron now say, for His mercy endureth for ever.

کاهنان نسل هارون بگویند: «محبت خداوند بی‌پایان است.»

4 So let them now that fear the LORD say, for His mercy endureth for ever.

مردم خداترس بگویند: «محبت خداوند بی‌پایان است.»

5 Out of my straits I called upon the LORD; He answered me with great enlargement.

در زحمت بودم؛ از خداوند کمک خواستم؛ او به دادم رسید و مرا رهانید.

6 The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do unto me?

خداوند با من است، پس نخواهم ترسید. انسان به من چه می‌تواند بکند؟

7 The LORD is for me as my helper; and I shall gaze upon them that hate me.

خداوند با من است و مرا یاری خواهد داد، پس پیروزمندانه بر کسانی که از من نفرت دارند خواهم نگریست.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

به خداوند پناه بردن بهتر است از امید بستن به انسان.

9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

آری، به خداوند پناه بردن حتی بهتر است از امید بستن به امیران.

10 All nations compass me about; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

اگر همهٔ دشمنان مانند زنبور بر سر من بریزند و دور مرا بگیرند، به یاری خداوند تمام آنها را نابود خواهم کرد. آنها مثل خارها که دوامی ندارند خواهند سوخت و فوری خاموش خواهند شد.

11 They compass me about, yea, they compass me about; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

12 They compass me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

13 Thou didst thrust sore at me that I might fall; but the LORD helped me.

دشمن بر من هجوم آورد تا نابودم کند، ولی خداوند مرا کمک نمود.

14 The LORD is my strength and song; and He is become my salvation.

خداوند قوت و سرود من است؛ او باعث نجات من شده است.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

فریاد پیروزی قوم خدا از خیمه‌هایشان شنیده می‌شود که می‌گویند: «دست توانای خداوند متعال این پیروزی را نصیب ما ساخته است!

16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted; the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

آری، دست توانای خداوند متعال، ما را در جنگ پیروز ساخته است!»

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

من نخواهم مرد، بلکه زنده خواهم ماند و کارهای خداوند را برای همه تعریف خواهم کرد.

18 The LORD hath chastened me sore; but He hath not given me over unto death.

خداوند مرا به سختی تنبیه کرد، ولی نگذاشت تا بمیرم.

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto the LORD.

دروازه‌هایی را که عادلان از آن وارد می‌شوند برای من باز کنید تا داخل شوم و خداوند را سپاس گویم.

20 This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter into it.

این است دروازهٔ خداوند که نیکوکاران از آن وارد شوند.

21 I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast answered me, and art become my salvation.

ای خداوند، تو را ستایش می‌کنم که مرا اجابت فرموده، نجاتم دادی.

22 The stone which the builders rejected is become the chief corner-stone.

سنگی که معماران دور افکندند، سنگ اصلی ساختمان شده است.

23 This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

این کارِ خداوند است و در نظر ما عجیب می‌نماید.

24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

این است روزی که خداوند ساخته؛ در این روز باید وجد و شادی کرد!

25 We beseech Thee, O LORD, save now! We beseech Thee, O LORD, make us now to prosper!

خداوندا، تمنا می‌کنیم ما را نجات دهی و کامیاب سازی!

26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD; we bless you out of the house of the LORD.

مبارک است آن که به نام خداوند می‌آید! ما از خانهٔ خداوند، تو را برکت می‌دهیم.

27 The LORD is God, and hath given us light; order the festival procession with boughs, even unto the horns of the altar.

یهوه خداست، همان خدایی که ما را منور ساخته است. شاخه‌ها را به دست گیرید و جشن را آغاز کنید و به سوی مذبح خانهٔ خدا پیش بروید.

28 Thou art my God, and I will give thanks unto Thee; Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.

تو خدای من هستی، و تو را سپاس می‌گویم! تو خدای من هستی، و تو را تمجید می‌کنم!

29 O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.

خداوند را ستایش کنید، زیرا او نیکوست و محبتش بی‌پایان.
