Psalms 116
1 I love that the LORD should hear my voice and my supplications.
Szeretem az Urat, mert meghallgatja esedezéseim szavát.
2 Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him all my days.
Mert az ő fülét felém fordítja, azért segítségül hívom őt egész életemben.
3 The cords of death compassed me, and the straits of the nether-world got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
Körülvettek engem a halál kötelei, és a pokol szorongattatásai támadtak meg engem; nyomorúságba és ínségbe jutottam. (Sheol h7585)
4 But I called upon the name of the LORD: 'I beseech thee, O LORD, deliver my soul.'
És az Úrnak nevét segítségül hívám: Kérlek Uram, szabadítsd meg az én lelkemet!
5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is compassionate.
Az Úr kegyelmes és igaz, és a mi Istenünk irgalmas.
6 The LORD preserveth the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.
Az Úr megőrzi az alázatosokat; én ügyefogyott voltam és megszabadított engem.
7 Return, O my soul, unto Thy rest; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
Térj meg én lelkem a te nyugodalmadba, mert az Úr jól tett teveled.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
Minthogy megszabadítottad lelkemet a haláltól, szemeimet a könyhullatástól és lábamat az eséstől:
9 I shall walk before the LORD in the lands of the living.
Az Úr orczája előtt fogok járni az élőknek földén.
10 I trusted even when I spoke: 'I am greatly afflicted.'
Hittem, azért szóltam; noha igen megaláztatott valék.
11 I said in my haste: 'All men are liars.'
Csüggedezésemben ezt mondtam én: Minden ember hazug.
12 How can I repay unto the LORD all His bountiful dealings toward me?
Mivel fizessek az Úrnak minden hozzám való jótéteményéért?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
A szabadulásért való poharat felemelem, és az Úrnak nevét hívom segítségül.
14 My vows will I pay unto the LORD, yea, in the presence of all His people.
Az Úr iránt való fogadásaimat megadom az ő egész népe előtt.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
Az Úr szemei előtt drága az ő kegyeseinek halála.
16 I beseech Thee, O LORD, for I am Thy servant; I am Thy servant, the son of Thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bands.
Uram! én bizonyára a te szolgád vagyok; szolgád vagyok én, a te szolgáló leányodnak fia, te oldoztad ki az én köteleimet.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
Néked áldozom hálaadásnak áldozatával, és az Úr nevét hívom segítségül.
18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD, yea, in the presence of all His people;
Az Úr iránt való fogadásaimat megadom az ő egész népe előtt,
19 In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
Az Úr házának tornáczaiban, te benned, oh Jeruzsálem! Dicsérjétek az Urat!
