Psalms 116
1 I love that the LORD should hear my voice and my supplications.
J’Aime que l’Eternel écoute ma voix, mes supplications,
2 Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him all my days.
qu’il incline son oreille vers moi, alors que je l’invoque chaque jour de ma vie.
3 The cords of death compassed me, and the straits of the nether-world got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
Les liens de la mort m’avaient enveloppé, les angoisses du Cheol m’avaient étreint; j’avais éprouvé détresse et douleurs. (Sheol h7585)
4 But I called upon the name of the LORD: 'I beseech thee, O LORD, deliver my soul.'
Mais j’ai invoqué le nom du Seigneur: "Ah! de grâce, Seigneur, sauve mon âme!"
5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is compassionate.
Clément est l’Eternel et juste, notre Dieu est compatissant.
6 The LORD preserveth the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.
L’Eternel protège les simples; j’étais abaissé, et il m’a porté secours.
7 Return, O my soul, unto Thy rest; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
Reviens, ô mon âme, à ta quiétude, car l’Eternel te comble de ses bienfaits.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
Oui, tu as préservé mon âme de la mort, mes yeux des larmes, mes pieds de la chute.
9 I shall walk before the LORD in the lands of the living.
Je circulerai devant le Seigneur, dans les terres des vivants.
10 I trusted even when I spoke: 'I am greatly afflicted.'
Je suis plein de foi quand je parle, si humilié que je puisse être.
11 I said in my haste: 'All men are liars.'
Pourtant j’avais dit dans ma précipitation: "Tout dans l’homme est trompeur!"
12 How can I repay unto the LORD all His bountiful dealings toward me?
Que ferai-je pour l’Eternel en retour de toutes ses bontés pour moi?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
Je lèverai la coupe du salut, et proclamerai le nom de l’Eternel.
14 My vows will I pay unto the LORD, yea, in the presence of all His people.
Mes vœux, je les acquitterai envers l’Eternel, à la face de tout son peuple.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
Une chose précieuse aux regards de l’Eternel, c’est la mort de ses pieux serviteurs.
16 I beseech Thee, O LORD, for I am Thy servant; I am Thy servant, the son of Thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bands.
Oh! grâce, Seigneur, car je suis ton serviteur, je suis ton serviteur, fils de ta servante: puisses-tu dénouer mes liens!
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
A toi, j’offrirai un sacrifice de reconnaissance, et je proclamerai le nom du Seigneur.
18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD, yea, in the presence of all His people;
Mes vœux, je les acquitterai envers l’Eternel, à la face de tout son peuple,
19 In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
dans les parvis de la maison de l’Eternel, dans ton enceinte, ô Jérusalem. Alléluia!
