Psalms 114

1 When Israel came forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

૧જ્યારે ઇઝરાયલીઓએ મિસર છોડ્યું, એટલે યાકૂબનું કુટુંબ વિદેશી લોકોમાંથી બહાર આવ્યું,

2 Judah became His sanctuary, Israel His dominion.

૨ત્યારે યહૂદિયા તેમનું પવિત્રસ્થાન, અને ઇઝરાયલ તેમનું રાજ્ય થયું.

3 The sea saw it, and fled; the Jordan turned backward.

૩સમુદ્ર તે જોઈને નાસી ગયો; યર્દન પાછી હઠી.

4 The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like young sheep.

૪પર્વતો ઘેટાંઓની માફક કૂદ્યા ડુંગરો હલવાનની જેમ કૂદ્યા.

5 What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? thou Jordan, that thou turnest backward?

૫અરે સમુદ્ર, તું કેમ નાસી ગયો? યર્દન નદી, તું કેમ પાછી હઠી?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; ye hills, like young sheep?

૬અરે પર્વતો, તમે શા માટે ઘેટાંની જેમ કૂદ્યા? નાના ડુંગરો, તમે કેમ હલવાનોની જેમ કૂદ્યા?

7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

૭હે પૃથ્વી, પ્રભુની સમક્ષ, યાકૂબના ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ, તું કાંપ.

8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

૮તેમણે ખડકમાંથી પાણી વહેવડાવીને સરોવર બનાવ્યું, મજબૂત ખડકને પાણીનાં ઝરામાં ફેરવ્યા.
