Psalms 110

1 A Psalm of David. The LORD saith unto my lord: 'Sit thou at My right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.'

Ein Psalm Davids. / Gesprochen hat Jahwe zu meinem Herrn: / Setz dich zu meiner Rechten, / bis ich deine Feinde gemacht / Zum Schemel für deine Füße.

2 The rod of Thy strength the LORD will send out of Zion: 'Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.'

Den Herrscherstab deiner Macht wird Jahwe drum / Ausstrecken von Zion her: / Herrsche nun unter deinen Feinden!"

3 Thy people offer themselves willingly in the day of thy warfare; in adornments of holiness, from the womb of the dawn, thine is the dew of thy youth.

Dein Volk wird auch opferwillig dir folgen / An dem Tage, da du dein Heer zum Kampfe rufst. / In heiligem Schmuck / Strömt dir deine junge Mannschaft zu / Wie Tau aus dem Schoße des Frührots.

4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent: 'Thou art a priest for ever after the manner of Melchizedek.'

Geschworen hat Jahwe, nicht wird es ihn reun: / "Du sollst ein Priester auf ewig sein / Nach Melchisedeks Weise."

5 The Lord at thy right hand doth crush kings in the day of His wrath.

Adonái, der dir helfend zur Rechten steht, / Wird Könige niederwerfen / Am Tage seines Zorns.

6 He will judge among the nations; He filleth it with dead bodies, He crusheth the head over a wide land.

Er richtet einst inmitten der Völker: / Er wird von Leichen umgeben sein, / Zerschmettern wird er das Haupt über weites Land.

7 He will drink of the brook in the way; therefore will he lift up the head.

Aus dem Bache am Wege wird er trinken. / Drum hebt er (siegreich) das Haupt empor.
