Psalms 11

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. In the LORD have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'?

Untuk pemimpin kor. Mazmur Daud. Aku berlindung pada TUHAN; tak ada gunanya berkata kepadaku, "Selamatkanlah dirimu seperti burung yang terbang ke gunung.

2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

Sebab orang jahat merentangkan busur dan memasang anak panahnya untuk membidikkannya di tempat yang gelap kepada orang yang jujur.

3 When the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought?

Kalau tata tertib masyarakat berantakan, orang baik tidak berdaya."

4 The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.

TUHAN ada di Rumah-Nya yang suci, takhta-Nya ada di surga. Ia mengamati umat manusia dan mengetahui segala perbuatan mereka.

5 The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.

TUHAN menguji orang baik dan orang jahat, Ia membenci orang yang suka akan kekerasan.

6 Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

Orang jahat dihukum-Nya dengan malapetaka, dengan api, belerang dan angin yang menghanguskan.

7 For the LORD is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.

Sebab TUHAN baik dan adil, Ia mengasihi orang yang berbuat baik; orang jujur akan melihat dan mengenal TUHAN.
