Psalms 107
1 BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'
Agradecei ao SENHOR, porque ele é bom; porque sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
2 So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;
Digam [isso] os resgatados pelo SENHOR, os quais ele resgatou das mão do adversário.
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
E os que ele ajuntou de todas as terras, do oriente e do ocidente, do norte e do sul.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.
Os que andaram sem rumo no deserto, por caminhos solitários; os que não acharam cidade para morarem.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Famintos e sedentos, suas almas neles desfaleciam.
6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
Mas eles clamaram ao SENHOR em suas angústias, e ele os livrou de suas aflições.
7 And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
E os levou ao caminho correto, para irem a uma cidade de moradia.
8 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Agradeçam ao SENHOR por sua bondade, e suas maravilhas perante os filhos dos homens.
9 For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.
Porque ele fartou a alma sedenta, e encheu de bem a alma faminta;
10 Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —
Os que estavam sentados em trevas e sombra de morte, presos com aflição e ferro,
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.
Porque se rebelaram contra os mandamentos de Deus, e rejeitaram o conselho do Altíssimo.
12 Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —
Por isso ele abateu seus corações com trabalhos cansativos; eles tropeçaram, e não houve quem os socorresse.
13 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
Porém eles clamaram ao SENHOR em suas angústias, e ele os livrou de suas aflições.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
Ele os tirou das trevas e da sombra da morte, e quebrou suas correntes de prisão.
15 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Agradeçam ao SENHOR pela sua bondade, e suas maravilhas perante os filhos dos homens.
16 For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
Porque ele quebrou as portas de bronze, e despedaçou os ferrolhos de ferro.
17 Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —
Os tolos foram afligidos por causa de seu caminho de transgressões e por suas perversidades.
18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —
A alma deles perdeu o interesse por todo tipo de comida, e chegaram até às portas da morte.
19 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;
Porém eles clamaram ao SENHOR em suas angústias, e ele os livrou de suas aflições.
20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.
Ele enviou sua palavra, e os sarou; e ele os livrou de suas covas.
21 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Agradeçam ao SENHOR por sua bondade, e suas maravilhas perante os filhos dos homens.
22 And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.
E sacrifiquem sacrifícios de gratidão; e anunciai as obras dele com alegria.
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —
Os que descem ao mar em navios, trabalhando em muitas águas,
24 These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;
Esses veem as obras do SENHOR, e suas maravilhas nas profundezas.
25 For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;
[Porque] quando ele fala, ele faz levantar tormentas de vento, que levanta suas ondas.
26 They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;
Elas sobem aos céus, [e] descem aos abismos; a alma deles se derrete de angústia.
27 They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —
Eles cambaleiam e vacilam como bêbados, e toda a sabedoria deles se acaba.
28 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.
Então eles clamaram ao SENHOR em suas angústias, e ele os tirou de suas aflições.
29 He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.
Ele fez cessar as tormentas, e as ondas se calaram.
30 Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.
Então se alegraram, porque houve calmaria; e ele os levou ao porto que queriam [chegar].
31 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Agradeçam ao SENHOR por sua bondade, e suas maravilhas perante os filhos dos homens;
32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.
E exaltem a ele na assembleia do povo, e o glorifiquem na reunião dos anciãos.
33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;
Ele torna os rios em deserto, e as saídas de águas em terra seca.
34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
A terra frutífera em salgada, pela maldade dos que nela habitam.
35 He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.
Ele torna o deserto em lagoa, e a terra seca em nascentes de águas.
36 And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
E faz aos famintos habitarem ali; e eles edificam uma cidade para morarem;
37 And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.
E semeiam campos, e plantam vinhas, que produzem fruto valioso.
38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
E ele os abençoa, e se multiplicam muito, e o gado dele não diminui.
39 Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.
Mas [quando] eles se diminuem e se abatem, por causa da opressão, mal e aflição;
40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
Ele derrama desprezo sobre os governantes, e os faz andar sem rumo pelos desertos, sem [terem] caminho.
41 Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.
Mas ao necessitado, ele levanta da opressão a um alto retiro, e faz famílias como a rebanhos.
42 The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
Os corretos, ao verem, ficam alegres, e todo perverso se calará.
43 Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of the LORD.
Quem é sábio, que preste atenção a estas coisas, e reflita nas bondades do SENHOR.
