Psalms 107
1 BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'
Louvae ao Senhor, porque elle é bom, porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.
2 So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;
Digam-n'o os remidos do Senhor, os que remiu da mão do inimigo,
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
E os que congregou das terras do oriente e do occidente, do norte e do sul.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.
Andaram desgarrados pelo deserto, por caminhos solitarios; não acharam cidade para habitarem.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Famintos e sedentos, a sua alma n'elles desfallecia.
6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
E clamaram ao Senhor na sua angustia, e os livrou das suas necessidades.
7 And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
E os levou por caminho direito, para irem a uma cidade de habitação.
8 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
9 For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.
Pois fartou a alma sedenta, e encheu de bondade a alma faminta.
10 Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —
Tal como a que se assenta nas trevas e sombra da morte, presa em afflicção e em ferro;
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.
Porquanto se rebellaram contra as palavras de Deus, e desprezaram o conselho do Altissimo,
12 Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —
Portanto lhes abateu o coração com trabalho; tropeçaram, e não houve quem os ajudasse.
13 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
Então clamaram ao Senhor na sua angustia, e os livrou das suas necessidades.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
Tirou-os das trevas e sombra da morte; e quebrou as suas prisões.
15 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
16 For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
Pois quebrou as portas de bronze; e despedaçou os ferrolhos de ferro.
17 Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —
Os loucos, por causa da sua transgressão, e por causa das suas iniquidades, são afflictos.
18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —
A sua alma aborreceu toda a comida, e chegaram até ás portas da morte.
19 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;
Então clamaram ao Senhor na sua angustia: e elle os livrou das suas necessidades.
20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.
Enviou a sua palavra, e os sarou; e os livrou da sua destruição.
21 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
22 And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.
E offereçam os sacrificios de louvor, e relatem as suas obras com regozijo.
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —
Os que descem ao mar em navios, mercando nas grandes aguas,
24 These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;
Esses vêem as obras do Senhor, e as suas maravilhas no profundo.
25 For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;
Pois elle manda, e se levanta o vento tempestuoso, que eleva as suas ondas.
26 They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;
Sobem aos céus; descem aos abysmos, e a sua alma se derrete em angustias.
27 They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —
Andam e cambaleam como ebrios, e perderam todo o tino.
28 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.
Então clamam ao Senhor na sua angustia; e elle os livra das suas necessidades.
29 He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.
Faz cessar a tormenta, e calam-se as suas ondas.
30 Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.
Então se alegram, porque se aquietaram; assim os leva ao seu porto desejado.
31 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.
Exaltem-n'o na congregação do povo, e glorifiquem-n'o na assembléa dos anciãos.
33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;
Elle converte os rios em um deserto, e as fontes em terra sedenta:
34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
A terra fructifera em esteril, pela maldade dos que n'ella habitam.
35 He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.
Converte o deserto em lagoa, e a terra secca em fontes.
36 And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
E faz habitar ali os famintos, para que edifiquem cidade para habitação;
37 And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.
E semeiam os campos e plantam vinhas, que produzem fructo abundante.
38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Tambem os abençoa, de modo que se multiplicam muito; e o seu gado não diminue.
39 Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.
Depois se diminuem e se abatem, pela oppressão, afflicção e tristeza.
40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
Derrama o desprezo sobre os principes, e os faz andar desgarrados pelo deserto, onde não ha caminho.
41 Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.
Porém livra ao necessitado da oppressão em um logar alto, e multiplica as familias como rebanhos.
42 The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
Os rectos o verão, e se alegrarão, e toda a iniquidade tapará a bocca.
43 Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of the LORD.
Quem é sabio observará estas coisas, e elles comprehenderão as benignidades do Senhor.
