Psalms 105
1 O give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name; make known His doings among the peoples.
Adjatok hálát az Örökkévalónak, szólítsátok nevét, tudassátok a népek közt cselekményeit!
2 Sing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; speak ye of all His marvellous works.
Énekeljetek neki, zengjetek neki, gondolkodjatok el mind az ő csodatettein!
3 Glory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Dicsekedjetek szent nevével; örüljön szíve az Örökkévaló keresőinek!
4 Seek ye the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.
Keressétek föl az Örökkévalót és hatalmát, arczát keressétek mindig!
5 Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;
Emlékezzetek csodatetteiről, melyeket mívelt, csodajeleiről és szája ítéleteiről.
6 O ye seed of Abraham His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
Szolgájának Ábrahámnak magzatja ti, Jákób fiai, az ő kiválasztottjai!
7 He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
Ő az Örökkévaló, a mi Istenünk, az egész földön vannak ítéletei.
8 He hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations;
Örökké megemlékezett szövetségéről, az igéről, melyet megparancsolt ezer nemzedékre,
9 The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac;
melyet kötött Ábrahámmal, és Izsáknak tett esküjéről;
10 And He established it unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant;
megállapította Jákóbnak törvényül, Izraélnek örök szövetségül;
11 Saying: 'Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.'
mondván: neked adom Kanaán országát, birtoktok osztályául!
12 When they were but a few men in number. Yea, very few, and sojourners in it,
Midőn csekély számúak voltak, csak kevesen és benne tartózkodók:
13 And when they went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,
akkor jártak nemzettől nemzethez, egyik királyságból más néphez.
14 He suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings:
Nem engedte embernek, hogy zsarolja őket, s megfenyített miattuk királyokat:
15 'Touch not Mine anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.'
ne nyúljatok fölkentjeimhez és prófétáimat ne bántsátok!
16 And He called a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.
Éhséget szólított az országra, eltörte a kenyér minden pálczáját.
17 He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a servant;
Küldött előttük egy férfiút, rabszolgául adatott el József.
18 His feet they hurt with fetters, his person was laid in iron;
Békóval sanyargatták lábát, vasba jutott a lelke,
19 Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him.
az időig, hogy bekövetkezett az igéje, az Örökkévaló szava megtisztította őt.
20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the peoples, and set him free.
Küldött a király s feloldozta, népek uralkodója s kiszabadította.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions;
Úrrá tette háza fölött és uralkodóvá minden vagyonán,
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
hogy megköthesse nagyjait kedve szerint, és bölcscsé tegye véneit.
23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
És Egyiptomba jutott Izraél, s Jákób tartózkodott Chám földjén.
24 And He increased His people greatly, and made them too mighty for their adversaries.
S megszaporította népét nagyon és számosabbá tette szorongatóinál.
25 He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants.
Átváltoztatta szívöket, hogy meggyűlöljék népét, hogy fondorkodjanak szolgái ellen.
26 He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen.
Küldte Mózest, az ő szolgáját, Áront, akit kiválasztott;
27 They wrought among them His manifold signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.
elvégezték köztük jeleinek dolgait meg csodákat Chám földjén.
28 He sent darkness, and it was dark; and they rebelled not against His word.
Küldött sötétséget és sötét lett, s nem engedetlenkedtek igéje iránt.
29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Átváltoztatta vizeiket vérré s megölte halukat.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings.
Hemzsegett országuk békáktól, királyaik szobáiban.
31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their borders.
Szólt és jött gyülevész vad, férgek egész határukba.
32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
Jégesőt adott nekik esőjük gyanánt, lobogó tüzet országukban;
33 He smote their vines also and their fig-trees; and broke the trees of their borders.
elverte szőlőjüket és fügefájukat és összetörte határuk fáit.
34 He spoke, and the locust came, and the canker-worm without number,
Szólt és jött sáska, nyaló sáska szám nélkül,
35 And did eat up every herb in their land, and did eat up the fruit of their ground.
s megemésztett minden füvet országukban, s megemésztette földjük gyümölcsét.
36 He smote also all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their strength.
Megölt minden elsőszülöttet országukban, zsengéjét minden tehetségöknek.
37 And He brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was none that stumbled among His tribes.
Erre kivonultatta őket ezüsttel és aranynyal, és törzsei közt nem volt gyöngélkedő.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
Örült Egyiptom kivonultukon, mert rájuk esett rettegésük.
39 He spread a cloud for a screen; and fire to give light in the night.
Kiterített felhőt takarónak, meg tüzet, hogy világítson éjjel.
40 They asked, and He brought quails, and gave them in plenty the bread of heaven.
Kértek s hozott fürjet és égnek kenyérevel jóllakatta őket.
41 He opened the rock, and waters gushed out; they ran, a river in the dry places.
Sziklát nyitott és vizek folytak, jártak a sivatagban folyamként.
42 For He remembered His holy word unto Abraham His servant;
Mert megemlékezett szent igéjéről Ábrahámhoz, az ő szolgájához.
43 And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing.
És kivezette népét vígságban, ujjongásban kiválasztottjait;
44 And He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took the labour of the peoples in possession;
adta nekik nemzetek országait, hogy elfoglalják népek fáradalmát:
45 That they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws. Hallelujah.
avégett, hogy megőrizzék törvényeit és megtartsák a tanait. Hallelúja!
