Proverbs 1
1 THE PROVERBS of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
दाऊदका छोरा इस्राएलका राजा सोलोमनको हितोपदेशः
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to comprehend the words of understanding;
यी हितोपदेशहरू बुद्धि र निर्देशनक कुराहरू सिकाउन र अन्तर्दृष्टिका वचनहरू सिकाउनलाई हो,
3 To receive the discipline of wisdom, justice, and right, and equity;
ताकि जे ठिक, न्यायी र उचित छ त्यो गरेर बाँच्नलाई तिमीले निर्देशन प्राप्त गर्न सक ।
4 To give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion;
यी हितोपदेशहरू सोझाहरूलाई बुद्धि दिन र युवाहरूलाई ज्ञान र समझदारी दिनलाई पनि हो ।
5 That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning, and the man of understanding may attain unto wise counsels;
बुद्धिमानी मानिसहरूले सुनून् र तिनीहरूको ज्ञान बढाऊन्, अनि विवेकशील मानिसहरूले मार्गदर्शन पाऊन्,
6 To understand a proverb, and a figure; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
जसद्वारा तिनीहरूले हितोपदेशहरू, दृष्टान्तहरू, बुद्धिमानीहरूका वचनहरू र आहानहरू बुझून् ।
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and discipline.
परमप्रभुको भय नै ज्ञानको सुरु हो । मूर्खहरूले बुद्धि र निर्देशनलाई तुच्छ ठान्छ ।
8 Hear, my son, the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the teaching of thy mother;
हे मरो छोरो, आफ्नो छोरोको निर्देशन सुन्, र आफ्नी आमाका नियमहरूलाई पाखा नलगा ।
9 For they shall be a chaplet of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
ती तेरो शिरमा अनुग्रहको माला हुने छन्, र तेरो गलामा सम्मानको हार हुने छन् ।
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
हे मेरो छोरो, पापीहरूले तँलाई तिनीहरूकै पापमा बहकाउन खोजे भने, तिनीहरूको पछि नलाग् ।
11 If they say: 'Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us lurk for the innocent without cause;
तिनीहरूले भन्लान्, “हामीसित आऊ । उक्तपातको लागि ढुकिबसौँ । विनाकारण लुकेर निर्दोष मानिसहरूलाई आक्रमण गरौँ ।
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those that go down into the pit; (Sheol h7585)
स्वस्थहरूलाई पातालले निलेझैँ तिनीहरूलाई जिउँदै निलौँ, र तिनीहरूलाई खाडलमा खस्नेहरूलाई झैँ गरौँ । (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil;
हामीले सबै किसिमका बहुमूल्य थोकहरू पाउने छौँ । तिनीहरूबाट हामीले चोरेका थोकहरूले हामी आफ्ना घरहरू भर्ने छौँ ।
14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse' —
तिमी हामीसित साझेदार होऊ । हामी सबैको एउटै थैलो हुने छ ।”
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them, restrain thy foot from their path;
हे मेरो छोरो, तिनीहरूसँग त्यस मार्गमा नचल । तिनीहरू हिँड्ने बाटोमा तेरा पाउलाई छुन नदे ।
16 For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.
तिनीहरूका पाउ खराबीको लागि दौडन्छन्, र तिनीहरू रगत बगाउन हतारिन्छन् ।
17 For in vain the net is spread in the eyes of any bird;
किनकि कुनै पनि पक्षीको दृष्टिमा जाल फ्याँक्नु बेकाम्मा हुन्छ ।
18 And these lie in wait for their own blood, they lurk for their own lives.
यी मानिसहरू तिनीहरूको आफ्नै रगतको लागि ढुकिबस्छन् । तिनीहरूले आफ्नै ज्यानको लागि पासो थाप्छन् ।
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; it taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
अन्यायद्वारा धन थुपार्ने हरेकका मार्गहरू पनि त्यस्तै हुन्छन् । अन्यायद्वारा कमाउनेहरूको जीवन त्यही धनले छिनेर लैजान्छ ।
20 Wisdom crieth aloud in the streets, she uttereth her voice in the broad places;
बुद्धि सडकमा चर्को गरी कराउँछ, र खुला ठाउँहरूमा त्यसले आफ्नो सोर उचाल्छ ।
21 She calleth at the head of the noisy streets, at the entrances of the gates, in the city, she uttereth her words:
होहल्लाले भरिएका सडकहरूको माथि त्यो कराउँछ, र सहरको मूल ढोकामा त्यसले भन्छ,
22 'How long, ye thoughtless, will ye love thoughtlessness? And how long will scorners delight them in scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
“हे निर्बुद्धि मानिसहरू हो, तिमीहरू कहिलेसम्म निर्बुद्धि भइरहन्छौ? हे गिल्ला गर्नेहरू हो, तिमीहरू कहिलेसम्म गिल्ला गर्नमा रमाउँछौ? र हे मूर्खहरू हो, तिमीहरू कहिलेसम्म ज्ञानलाई घृणा गर्छौ?
23 Turn you at my reproof; behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
मेरो सुधारलाई ध्यान देओ । म तिमीहरूमाथि मेरा विचार खन्याइदिने छु । म तिमीहरूलाई मेरा वचनहरू ज्ञात गराइदिने छु ।
24 Because I have called, and ye refused, I have stretched out my hand, and no man attended,
मैले बोलाएको छु, तर तिमीहरूले सुन्न इन्कार गरेका छौ । मैले मेरा हात फैलाएँ, तर ध्यान दिने कोही थिएन ।
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof;
तिमीहरूले मेरा सबै निर्देशनलाई बेवास्ता गरेका छौ, र मेरो सुधारलाई वास्तै गरेका छैनौ ।
26 I also, in your calamity, will laugh, I will mock when your dread cometh;
तिमीहरूमाथि विपत्ति आइपर्दा म खिसी गर्ने छु; त्रास आउँदा म तिमीहरूलाई उपहास गर्ने छु-
27 When your dread cometh as a storm, and your calamity cometh on as a whirlwind; when trouble and distress come upon you.
जब तिमीहरूमाथि आँधीबेहरीझैँ डरलाग्दो त्रास आउने छ, र भुमरीझैँ विपत्ति तिमीहरूमाथि मडारिन्छ, र सङ्कष्ट र पीडा तिमीहरूमाथि आउँछन् ।
28 Then will they call me, but I will not answer, they will seek me earnestly, but they shall not find me.
तब तिनीहरूले मेरो पुकारा गर्ने छन्, तर मे जवाफ दिने छैनँ । तिनीहरूले मेरो औधी खोजी गर्ने छन्, तर मलाई भेट्टाउने छैनन् ।
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD;
तिनीहरूले ज्ञानलाई घृणा गर्ने भएकाले र परमप्रभुको भयलाई नरोजेकाले,
30 They would none of my counsel, they despised all my reproof.
तिनीहरूले मेरो निर्देशनलाई मानेनन्, र मेरो सुधारलाई तुच्छ ठाने ।
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
तिनीहरूले तिनीहरूका चालको फल खाने छन्, र तिनीहरूका षड्यन्त्रको फलले तिनीहरू भरिने छन् ।
32 For the waywardness of the thoughtless shall slay them, and the confidence of fools shall destroy them.
किनकि निर्बुद्धिहरू फर्कंदा तिनीहरू मारिन्छन्, र मूर्खहरूको तटस्थताले तिनीहरूलाई नष्ट गर्ने छन् ।
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell securely, and shall be quiet without fear of evil.'
तर मेरो कुरा सुन्ने सुरक्षामा जिउने छ, र कुनै पनि विपत्तिको डरैविना ढुक्कसित बस्ने छ ।”
