Proverbs 8
1 Doth not wisdom call, and understanding put forth her voice?
¿No clama la sabiduría; y la inteligencia da su voz?
2 In the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she standeth;
En los altos cabezos, junto al camino, a las encrucijadas de las veredas se para:
3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:
En el lugar de las puertas, a la entrada de la ciudad: a la entrada de las puertas da voces:
4 'Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.
O! hombres, a vosotros clamo; y mi voz es a los hijos de los hombres.
5 O ye thoughtless, understand prudence, and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
Entendéd simples astucia; y vosotros insensatos, tomád entendimiento:
6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Oíd, porque hablaré cosas excelentes, y abriré mis labios para cosas rectas.
7 For my mouth shall utter truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Porque mi paladar hablará verdad; y mis labios abominan la impiedad.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness, there is nothing perverse or crooked in them.
En justicia son todas las razones de mi boca: no hay en ellas cosa perversa, ni torcida.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Todas ellas son rectas al que entiende; y rectas a los que han hallado sabiduría.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.
Recibíd mi castigo, y no la plata; y ciencia, mas que el oro escogido.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies, and all things desirable are not to be compared unto her.
Porque mejor es la sabiduría que las piedras preciosas; y todas las cosas que se pueden desear, no se pueden comparar a ella.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of devices.
Yo, la sabiduría, moré con la astucia; y yo invento la ciencia de los consejos.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
El temor de Jehová es aborrecer el mal; la soberbia, y la arrogancia, y el mal camino, y la boca perversa aborrezco.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.
Conmigo está el consejo, y el ser: yo soy la inteligencia; mía es la fortaleza.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
Por mí reinan los reyes, y los príncipes determinan justicia.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
Por mí dominan los príncipes, y todos los gobernadores juzgan la tierra.
17 I love them that love me, and those that seek me earnestly shall find me.
Yo amo a los que me aman; y los que me buscan, me hallan.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, enduring riches and righteousness.
Las riquezas y la honra están conmigo, riqueza firme y justa.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my produce than choice silver.
Mejor es mi fruto que el oro, y que el oro refinado; y mi renta, que la plata escogida.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
Por vereda de justicia guiaré, por medio de veredas de juicio.
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, and that I may fill their treasuries.
Para hacer heredar a mis amigos el ser, y que yo hincha sus tesoros.
22 The LORD made me as the beginning of His way, the first of His works of old.
Jehová me poseyó en el principio de su camino, desde entonces, antes de sus obras.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
Eternalmente tuve el principado, desde el principio, antes de la tierra.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Antes de los abismos fui engendrada; antes que fuesen las fuentes de las muchas aguas:
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth;
Antes que los montes fuesen fundados: antes de los collados, yo era engendrada.
26 While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
No había aun hecho la tierra, ni las plazas, ni la cabeza de los polvos del mundo.
27 When He established the heavens, I was there; when He set a circle upon the face of the deep,
Cuando componía los cielos, allí estaba yo; cuando señalaba por compás la sobrehaz del abismo:
28 When He made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep showed their might,
Cuando afirmaba los cielos arriba: cuando afirmaba las fuentes del abismo:
29 When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not transgress His commandment, when He appointed the foundations of the earth;
Cuando ponía a la mar su estatuto; y a las aguas, que no pasasen su mandamiento: cuando señalaba los fundamentos de la tierra:
30 Then I was by Him, as a nursling; and I was daily all delight, playing always before Him,
Con él estaba yo por ama, y fui en delicias todos los días, teniendo solaz delante de él en todo tiempo.
31 Playing in His habitable earth, and my delights are with the sons of men.
Tengo solaz en la redondez de su tierra; y mis solaces son con los hijos de los hombres.
32 Now therefore, ye children, hearken unto me; for happy are they that keep my ways.
Ahora pues, hijos, oídme; y bienaventurados los que guardaren mis caminos.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Obedecéd la instrucción, y sed sabios; y no la menospreciéis.
34 Happy is the man that hearkeneth to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Bienaventurado el hombre que me oye, trasnochando a mis puertas cada día: guardando los umbrales de mis entradas.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
Porque el que me hallare, hallará la vida; y alcanzará la voluntad de Jehová.
36 But he that misseth me wrongeth his own soul; all they that hate me love death.'
Mas el que peca contra mí, defrauda a su alma: todos los que me aborrecen, aman la muerte.
