Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
೧ಕಂದಾ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೋ, ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಧಿಯಂತೆ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೋ.
2 Keep my commandments and live, and my teaching as the apple of thine eye.
೨ನನ್ನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣುಗುಡ್ಡೆಯಂತೆ ಪಾಲಿಸು, ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಬಾಳು.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thy heart.
೩ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆರಳುಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಂಗುರವಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸಿಕೋ, ಹೃದಯದ ಹಲಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದುಕೋ.
4 Say unto wisdom: 'Thou art my sister', and call understanding thy kinswoman;
೪ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ಕಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು, “ಪ್ರಿಯೇ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆ.
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the alien woman that maketh smooth her words.
೫ಅವು ಜಾರಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಸವಿಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವು.
6 For at the window of my house I looked forth through my lattice;
೬ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಕಿಟಕಿಯ ಜಾಲರಿಯಿಂದ ಇಣಿಕಿ ನೋಡಲು
7 And I beheld among the thoughtless ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
೭ಅಲ್ಪಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಅನೇಕ ಯುವಕರು ಕಾಣಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು.
8 Passing through the street near her corner, and he went the way to her house;
೮ಅವನು ಸಂಜೆಯ ಮೊಬ್ಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಅಂಧಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ,
9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the blackness of night and the darkness.
೯ಅವಳ ಮನೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ, ಅವಳ ಮನೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು.
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and wily of heart.
೧೦ಇಗೋ ವೇಶ್ಯಾರೂಪವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಪಟ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡಳು.
11 She is riotous and rebellious, her feet abide not in her house;
೧೧ಇವಳು ಕೂಗಾಟದವಳು, ಹಟಮಾರಿ, ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕವಳೇ ಅಲ್ಲ;
12 Now she is in the streets, now in the broad places, and lieth in wait at every corner.
೧೨ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವಳು, ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಚೌಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವಳು, ಅಂತು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುವಳು.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face she said unto him:
೧೩ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಮುದ್ದಾಡಿ ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆಟ್ಟವಳಾಗಿ,
14 'Sacrifices of peace-offerings were due from me; this day have I paid my vows.
೧೪“ಎಲೈ, ಈ ದಿನ ನನ್ನ ಹರಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಯಜ್ಞಶೇಷವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿದೆ,
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
೧೫ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂದೆನು, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆತುರದಿಂದ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡೆನು.
16 I have decked my couch with coverlets, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.
೧೬ನನ್ನ ಮಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಪ್ಪತ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದ ನೂಲಿನ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
೧೭ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ರಕ್ತಬೋಳ, ಅಗುರು, ಲವಂಗ, ಚಕ್ಕೆ ಇವುಗಳ ಚೂರ್ಣಗಳಿಂದ ಸುವಾಸನೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; let us solace ourselves with loves.
೧೮ಬಾ, ಬೆಳಗಿನ ತನಕ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ರಮಿಸುವ, ಕಾಮವಿಲಾಸಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವ.
19 For my husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey;
೧೯ಯಜಮಾನನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ, ದೂರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
20 He hath taken the bag of money with him; he will come home at the full moon.'
೨೦ಹಣದ ಗಂಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಗೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಳು.
21 With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield, with the blandishment of her lips she enticeth him away.
೨೧ಅವಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸವಿಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಮನವೊಲಿಸಿ, ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox that goeth to the slaughter, or as one in fetters to the correction of the fool;
೨೨ಹೋರಿಯು ವಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೂ, ಬೇಡಿಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯುವಂತೆಯೂ,
23 Till an arrow strike through his liver; as a bird hasteneth to the snare — and knoweth not that it is at the cost of his life.
೨೩ಪಕ್ಷಿಯು ಬಲೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಓಡುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಪಾಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ, ಬಾಣವು ತನ್ನ ಕಾಳಿಜವನ್ನು ತಿವಿಯುವ ಮೇರೆಗೂ, ಅವನು ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಅವಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
24 Now therefore, O ye children, hearken unto me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
೨೪ಈಗ, ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿರಿ.
25 Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
೨೫ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವಳ ನಡತೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗದಿರಲಿ, ತಪ್ಪಿಹೋಗಿಯೂ ಅವಳ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಡ.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded; yea, a mighty host are all her slain.
೨೬ಅವಳಿಂದ ಗಾಯಪಟ್ಟು ಬಿದ್ದವರು ಬಹು ಜನರು, ಹತರಾದವರೋ ಲೆಕ್ಕವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
