Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding;
ಮಗನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗಮನಕೊಡು; ನನ್ನ ಒಳನೋಟದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡು.
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿವೇಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವು.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಜಾರಿಣಿಯ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಜೇನುಗರೆಯುವುದು; ಅವಳ ಮಾತು ಎಣ್ಣೆಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೃದು.
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
ಆದರೆ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳು ಮಾಚಿಪತ್ರೆಯಂತೆ ಕಹಿಯೂ, ಇಬ್ಬಾಯಿ ಖಡ್ಗದಂತೆ ಹರಿತವೂ ಆಗಿರುವಳು.
ಅವಳ ಪಾದಗಳು ಮರಣದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ; ಅವಳ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತವೆ. (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest she should walk the even path of life, her ways wander, but she knoweth it not.
ಜೀವಮಾರ್ಗದ ವಿಚಾರ ಅವಳಿಗಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ಚಂಚಲವಾಗಿವೆ, ಅದರ ಅರಿವೂ ಅವಳಿಗಿಲ್ಲ.
7 Now therefore, O ye children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
ಮಕ್ಕಳಿರಾ, ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಈಗ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ; ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಬೇಡಿರಿ.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house;
ಅವಳ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ದೂರಮಾಡು; ಅವಳ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಇರು.
9 Lest thou give thy vigour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಕಳೆಯಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನ ಘನತೆನ್ನು ಕ್ರೂರನಿಗೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಡ.
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours be in the house of an alien;
ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಪರರು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯಾಸದ ಫಲವು ಪರರ ಮನೆ ಸೇರದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೋ.
11 And thou moan, when thine end cometh, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವನದ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವೂ ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸಿದಾಗ, ನೀನು ನರಳಬೇಕಾದೀತು.
12 And say: 'How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
ಆಗ ನೀನು, “ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ; ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿತು.
13 Neither have I hearkened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
ನನ್ನ ಬೋಧಕರ ಸ್ವರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗದೆ ಹೋದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಉಪದೇಶಕರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹೋದೆ.
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.'
ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಭೀರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವೆ.
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಕೊಳದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಬಾವಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಉಕ್ಕಿಬರುವ ಜಲವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿ.
16 Let thy springs be dispersed abroad, and courses of water in the streets.
ನಿನ್ನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳು ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವೋ? ನೀರಿನ ಒರತೆಗಳು ಬೀದಿಚೌಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯುವುದು ಸರಿಯೇ?
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
ಅವು ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ವಂತವಾಗಿರಲಿ; ಪರರು ಭಾಗಿಗಳಾಗಿರಬಾರದು.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
ನಿನ್ನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹೊಂದಲಿ; ನಿನ್ನ ಆನಂದವು ಯೌವನದ ಕಾಲದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಂದಿಗಿರಲಿ.
19 A lovely hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; with her love be thou ravished always.
ಆಕೆಯು ಮನೋಹರವಾದ ಹರಿಣಿ, ಅಂದವಾದ ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ; ಆಕೆಯ ಎದೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸದಾ ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡಿಸಲಿ; ಆಕೆಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ಸದಾ ಪರವಶನಾಗಿರು.
20 Why then wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of an alien?
ಮಗನೇ, ಬೇರೆಯವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೆ ವಶವಾಗುವುದೇಕೆ? ಅನ್ಯಳ ಎದೆಯನ್ನೇಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He maketh even all his paths.
ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಇವೆ. ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
22 His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
ದುಷ್ಟನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸ್ವಂತ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳೇ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತವೆ; ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳ ಪಾಶಗಳೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall reel.
ಶಿಸ್ತುಪಾಲನೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ತನ್ನ ಅತಿಮೂರ್ಖತನದಿಂದಲೇ ತಪ್ಪಿಹೋಗುವನು.
