Proverbs 31
1 The words of king Lemuel; the burden wherewith his mother corrected him.
੧ਲਮੂਏਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਈਆਂ,
2 What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? and what, O son of my vows?
੨ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਖਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ
3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
੩ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੇ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ!
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine: nor for princes to say: 'Where is strong drink?'
੪ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਹੇ ਲਮੂਏਲ, ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਖ ਮਧੂ ਦਾ ਪੀਣਾ ਜੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਰਾਜ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਾ, ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ
5 Lest they drink, and forget that which is decreed, and pervert the justice due to any that is afflicted.
੫ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਬਿਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਣ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁਖਿਆਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਮਾਰਨ।
6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter in soul;
੬ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਓ ਜੋ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਧ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੈ,
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
੭ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤੰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb, in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
੮ਗੂੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਲਈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਹਨ।
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
੯ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰ, ਅਤੇ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਲਈ ਲੜ।
10 A woman of valour who can find? for her price is far above rubies.
੧੦ਨੇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਿਸਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਹੀਰੇ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੈ।
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, and he hath no lack of gain.
੧੧ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਭ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਥੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
12 She doeth him good and not evil all the days of her life.
੧੨ਉਮਰ ਭਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਹੀ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
13 She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
੧੩ਉਹ ਉੱਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਤਾਨ ਭਾਲ ਕੇ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
14 She is like the merchant-ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
੧੪ਉਹ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਮੰਗਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
੧੫ਰਾਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਮ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
੧੬ਉਹ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਖ ਦੀ ਬਾੜੀ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
੧੭ਉਹ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਲੱਕ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਗੜਿਆਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
੧੮ਉਹ ਪਰਖ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਭਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁੱਝਦਾ।
19 She layeth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
੧੯ਉਹ ਤੱਕਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਚਰਖ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
੨੦ਉਹ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਠ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
੨੧ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਰਫ਼ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਿਰਮਚ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
22 She maketh for herself coverlets; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
੨੨ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਹਾਣੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਕਤਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਂਗਣੀ ਹਨ।
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
੨੩ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
24 She maketh linen garments and selleth them; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
੨੪ਉਹ ਮਲਮਲ ਦੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵੇਚਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਰਬੰਦ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing; and she laugheth at the time to come.
੨੫ਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and the law of kindness is on her tongue.
੨੬ਉਹ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਖੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
੨੭ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਲਸ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੀ।
28 Her children rise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her:
੨੮ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਵੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
29 'Many daughters have done valiantly, but thou excellest them all.'
੨੯ਭਈ ਬਥੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਮਤਾਈ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈਂ।
30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
੩੦ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਝੂਠ ਛਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਹੱਪਣ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਭੈਅ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates.
੩੧ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਵੇ!
