Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are secure as a young lion.
ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವವನು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding and knowledge established order shall long continue.
ದೇಶದ ದಂಗೆಯಿಂದ ಅನೇಕರು ನಾಯಕರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಒಳನೋಟ ಹಾಗು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ನಾಯಕನಿಂದಲೇ ದೇಶವು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವುದು.
3 A poor man that oppresseth the weak is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸದಂತೆ ಸುರಿಯುವ ಮಳೆಯಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.
ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವವರು ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
5 Evil men understand not justice; but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ದುಷ್ಟರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರು ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಕ್ರವಾಗಿರುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.
7 A wise son observeth the teaching; but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
ವಿವೇಚನೆಯ ಮಗನು ದೇವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಆದರೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕರ ಸಂಗಡಿಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
8 He that augmenteth his substance by interest and increase, gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.
ಬಡ್ಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಲಾಭದಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವವನು, ಬಡವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವನು.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಿವಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
10 Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit; but the whole-hearted shall inherit good.
ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿಸುವವನು, ತಾನೇ ತೋಡಿದ ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವನು. ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಾದರೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವರು.
11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him through.
ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ವಿವೇಚನೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಬಡವನು ಅವನ ವಂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಲ್ಲನು.
12 When the righteous exult, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men must be sought for.
ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಜಯವಾದರೆ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಘನತೆ ಇರುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾದರೆ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ದೊರಕುವುದು.
14 Happy is the man that feareth alway; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು. ಆದರೆ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳುವನು.
15 As a roaring lion, and a ravenous bear; so is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವ ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆಯೂ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ಕರಡಿಯಂತೆಯೂ, ಬಡವರನ್ನು ದುಷ್ಟನು ಆಳುವನು.
16 The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor; but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಮಹಾ ಸುಲಿಗೆಗಾರನು. ಆದರೆ ಲೋಭವನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವನು ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯನು.
17 A man that is laden with the blood of any person shall hasten his steps unto the pit; none will support him.
ನರಹತ್ಯದ ಅಪರಾಧ ಭಾವನೆಯಿಂದ ಇರುವವನು, ಮರಣದೆಡೆಗೆ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವನು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ತಡೆಯದಿರಲಿ.
18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved; but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವನು. ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಬೀಳುವನು.
19 He that tilleth his ground shall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain things shall have poverty enough.
ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಆಹಾರದಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು. ಆದರೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಬಡತನವು ಇರುವುದು.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿತುಳುಕುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
21 To have respect of persons is not good; for a man will transgress for a piece of bread.
ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ; ತುತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುವನು.
22 He that hath an evil eye hasteneth after riches, and knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ತನಗೆ ಬಡತನವು ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
23 He that rebuketh a man shall in the end find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವವನಿಗಿಂತ, ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವವನು ತರುವಾಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಯಾಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುವನು.
24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith: 'It is no transgression', the same is the companion of a destroyer.
ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ದೋಚಿಕೊಂಡು, “ಇದು ದೋಷವಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವನು ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು.
25 He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be abundantly gratified.
ದುರಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಕಲಹವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು; ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಪುಷ್ಟನಾಗುವನು.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall escape.
ತನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು; ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಾನ ಮಾಡುವವನು, ಕೊರತೆ ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಶಾಪಗಳು.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
ದುಷ್ಟರು ಎದ್ದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾದಾಗ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
