Proverbs 27
1 Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
നാളത്തെ ദിവസംചൊല്ലി പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ഒരു ദിവസത്തിൽ എന്തെല്ലാം സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
നിന്റെ വായല്ല മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ, നിന്റെ അധരമല്ല വേറൊരുത്തൻ നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's vexation is heavier than they both.
കല്ലു ഘനമുള്ളതും മണൽ ഭാരമുള്ളതും ആകുന്നു; ഒരു ഭോഷന്റെ നീരസമോ ഇവ രണ്ടിലും ഘനമേറിയതു.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?
ക്രോധം ക്രൂരവും കോപം പ്രളയവും ആകുന്നു; ജാരശങ്കയുടെ മുമ്പിലോ ആൎക്കു നില്ക്കാം?
5 Better is open rebuke than love that is hidden.
മറഞ്ഞ സ്നേഹത്തിലും തുറന്ന ശാസന നല്ലൂ.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are importunate.
സ്നേഹിതൻ വരുത്തുന്ന മുറിവുകൾ വിശ്വസ്തതയുടെ ഫലം; ശത്രുവിന്റെ ചുംബനങ്ങളോ കണക്കിലധികം.
7 The full soul loatheth a honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
തിന്നു തൃപ്തനായവൻ തേൻകട്ടയും ചവിട്ടിക്കളയുന്നു; വിശപ്പുള്ളവന്നോ കൈപ്പുള്ളതൊക്കെയും മധുരം.
8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
കൂടുവിട്ടലയുന്ന പക്ഷിയും നാടു വിട്ടുഴലുന്ന മനുഷ്യനും ഒരുപോലെ.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart; so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
തൈലവും ധൂപവും ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദ്യാലോചനയുള്ള സ്നേഹിതന്റെ മാധുൎയ്യവും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.
10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity; better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനെയും അപ്പന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനെയും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുതു; തന്റെ കഷ്ടകാലത്തു സഹോദരന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോകയും അരുതു; ദൂരത്തെ സഹോദരനിലും സമീപത്തെ അയല്ക്കാരൻ നല്ലതു.
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that taunteth me.
മകനേ, എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവനോടു ഞാൻ ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ജ്ഞാനിയായി എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്ക.
12 A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the thoughtless pass on, and are punished.
വിവേകമുള്ളവൻ അനൎത്ഥം കണ്ടു ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അല്പബുദ്ധികളോ നേരെ ചെന്നു ചേതപ്പെടുന്നു.
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; and hold him in pledge that is surety for an alien woman.
അന്യന്നുവേണ്ടി ജാമ്യം നില്ക്കുന്നവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തുകൊൾക; പരസ്ത്രീക്കു വേണ്ടി ഉത്തരവാദിയാകുന്നവനോടു പണയം വാങ്ങുക.
14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു സ്നേഹിതനെ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന്നു അതു ശാപമായി എണ്ണപ്പെടും.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike;
പെരുമഴയുള്ള ദിവസത്തിൽ ഇടവിടാത്ത ചോൎച്ചയും കലഹക്കാരത്തിയായ സ്ത്രീയും ഒരുപോലെ.
16 He that would hide her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand betrayeth itself.
അവളെ ഒതുക്കുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവൻ കാറ്റിനെ ഒതുക്കുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വലങ്കൈകൊണ്ടു എണ്ണയെ പിടിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
ഇരിമ്പു ഇരിമ്പിന്നു മൂൎച്ചകൂട്ടുന്നു; മനുഷ്യൻ മനുഷ്യന്നു മൂൎച്ചകൂട്ടുന്നു.
18 Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; and he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
അത്തികാക്കുന്നവൻ അതിന്റെ പഴം തിന്നും; യജമാനനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ബഹുമാനിക്കപ്പെടും.
19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുഖത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം മുഖത്തെ കാണുന്നു; മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുന്നു.
20 The nether-world and Destruction are never satiated; so the eyes of man are never satiated. (Sheol h7585)
പാതാളത്തിന്നും നരകത്തിന്നും ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തി വരുന്നില്ല; മനുഷ്യന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നും ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തിവരുന്നില്ല. (Sheol h7585)
21 The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, and a man is tried by his praise.
വെള്ളിക്കു പുടവും പൊന്നിന്നു മൂശയും ശോധന; മനുഷ്യന്നോ അവന്റെ പ്രശംസ.
22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle among groats, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
ഭോഷനെ ഉരലിൽ ഇട്ടു ഉലക്കകൊണ്ടു അവിൽപോലെ ഇടിച്ചാലും അവന്റെ ഭോഷത്വം വിട്ടുമാറുകയില്ല.
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds;
നിന്റെ ആടുകളുടെ അവസ്ഥ അറിവാൻ ജാഗ്രതയായിരിക്ക; നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളിൽ നന്നായി ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുക.
24 For riches are not for ever; and doth the crown endure unto all generations?
സമ്പത്തു എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കുന്നതല്ലല്ലോ; കിരീടം തലമുറതലമുറയോളം ഇരിക്കുമോ?
25 When the hay is mown, and the tender grass showeth itself, and the herbs of the mountains are gathered in;
പുല്ലു ചെത്തി കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; ഇളമ്പുല്ലു മുളെച്ചുവരുന്നു; പൎവ്വതങ്ങളിലെ സസ്യങ്ങളെ ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.
26 The lambs will be for thy clothing, and the goats the price for a field.
കുഞ്ഞാടുകൾ നിനക്കു ഉടുപ്പിന്നും കോലാടുകൾ നിലത്തിന്റെ വിലെക്കും ഉതകും.
27 And there will be goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household; and maintenance for thy maidens.
കോലാടുകളുടെ പാൽ നിന്റെ ആഹാരത്തിന്നും നിന്റെ ഭവനക്കാരുടെ അഹോവൃത്തിക്കും നിന്റെ ദാസിമാരുടെ ഉപജീവനത്തിന്നും മതിയാകും.
