< Proverbs 21 >
1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever He will.

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the hearts.
Yore duto mag dhano nenorene ni nikare, to Jehova Nyasaye ema pimo chuny.
3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Timo gima kare kod mowinjore ema Jehova Nyasaye oyiego moloyo misango.
4 A haughty look, and a proud heart — the tillage of the wicked is sin.
Wangʼ teko, chuny mar sunga kod taya mar jo-mahundu, gin richo!
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.
Chenro mag ngʼat matiyo matek kelo ohala to chutho e kaka rikni kelo chan.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vapour driven to and fro; they that seek them seek death.
Mwandu moyudi gi lep mariambo en mana tho malal piyo kendo en obeto mar tho.
7 The violence of the wicked shall drag them away; because they refuse to do justly.
Timbe mahundu mar joricho biro terogi mabor magilal; nimar gidagi timo gima kare.
8 The way of man is froward and strange; but as for the pure, his work is right.
Yor ngʼat ma jaketho ogondore, to kit ngʼat makare oriere tir.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than in a house in common with a contentious woman.
Ber dak e kona mar wi ot moloyo dak gi dhako maralep.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil; his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
Ngʼat ma timbene richo ohero richo; jabute ok yud ngʼwono kuome.
11 When the scorner is punished, the thoughtless is made wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
Ka okum ngʼat ma jaro ji, to joma ngʼeyogi tin yudo rieko, ka ngʼat mariek opuonji, to oyudo ngʼeyo.
12 The Righteous One considereth the house of the wicked; overthrowing the wicked to their ruin.
Ngʼat Makare ongʼeyo od ngʼat ma timbene richo kendo otero ngʼat marach e kethruok.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be answered.
Ka ngʼato odino ite ne ywak mar jachan, en owuon bende obiro ywak to ok nodwoke.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a present in the bosom strong wrath.
Mich mochiw lingʼ-lingʼ kweyo mirima to asoya mopandi ei law jiwo mirima maduongʼ.
15 To do justly is joy to the righteous, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
Ka adiera onenore, to joma timbegi nikare bedo mamor to joma timbegi richo to yudo bwok.
16 The man that strayeth out of the way of understanding shall rest in the congregation of the shades.
Ngʼat moweyo yor winjo wach dhiyo kar yweyo mar oganda mar joma otho.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man; he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
Ngʼat mohero budho biro bedo jachan; ngʼat mohero divai kod moo ok nyal bedo ja-mwandu.
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; and the faithless cometh in the stead of the upright.
Jomaricho bedo resruok mar joma kare; to jogo ma ok jo-adiera ne joma oriere tir.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
Ber dak e thim motwo moloyo dak gi dhako ma jadhawo kendo ma ja-mirima.
20 There is desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swalloweth it up.
Od ngʼat mariek opongʼ kod chiemo gi moo moyier, to ngʼat mofuwo chamo gik moko duto ma en-go.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, prosperity, and honour.
Ngʼatno maluwo tim makare kod hera yudo ngima, mwandu gi luor.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and bringeth down the stronghold wherein it trusteth.
Ngʼat mariek kawo dala ngʼat maratego kendo omuko dhorangeye matek magiketoe genogi.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Ngʼatno marito dhoge kod lewe ritore kuom masiche.
24 A proud and haughty man, scorner is his name, even he that dealeth in overbearing pride.
Ngʼat ma jasunga kendo jawuorre “Jajaro” e nyinge; otingʼore malo ka osungore malich.
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Dwaro mar jasamuoyo biro bedo thone owuon; nikech lwetene odagi tich.
26 There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Odiechiengʼ duto odwaro mangʼeny, to ngʼat makare chiwo maonge giko.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more, when he bringeth it with the proceeds of wickedness?
Misango mar jaricho ok ber, onyalo bedo marach maromo nade ka ochiwe gi paro marach!
28 A false witness shall perish; but the man that obeyeth shall speak unchallenged.
Janeno ma ja-miriambo biro lal; to ngʼat mawinje ibiro tieko chutho.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face; but as for the upright, he looketh well to his way.
Ngʼat ma jaricho wangʼe tek to ngʼat moriere tir tiyo gi paro e yorene.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Onge rieko, onge neno matut, onge chenro manyalo loyo Jehova Nyasaye.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle; but victory is of the LORD.
Inyalo yiko faras ne ndalo mar lweny; to loyo lweny en mar Jehova Nyasaye.
