< Proverbs 21 >

1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever He will.

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the hearts.

3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

4 A haughty look, and a proud heart — the tillage of the wicked is sin.
Chah ak deng mikdai ingkaw ak oequ kawlung, thlakche a maihchoei taw thawlhnaak ni.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.
Kawdung ing bi ak bi boei nawh, thin-tawnoekna bi ak bi khawdeng hy.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vapour driven to and fro; they that seek them seek death.
Thailatnaak ing them huhnaak taw cingmai ingkaw thihnaak thang ak dyn ing myih hy.
7 The violence of the wicked shall drag them away; because they refuse to do justly.
Thlakchekhqi taw a mi seetnaak ing amimah thoeng khqi kaw, themleek sai ami maa ak caming.
8 The way of man is froward and strange; but as for the pure, his work is right.
Thawlh ak saikung a lam taw kawi nawh, themleek ak saikung bi bi taw laang hy.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than in a house in common with a contentious woman.
Hqo ak hu poepa nu ingqawi im khuioet awh awm haih anglakawh im hlepawh awm leek bet hy.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil; his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

11 When the scorner is punished, the thoughtless is made wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
Thlang ak thekhanaak toelna a awm awh, thlang zapkhqi ing cyihnaak taakna unawh; thlakcyi cawngpyina a awm awh a simnaak pung khqoet hy.
12 The Righteous One considereth the house of the wicked; overthrowing the wicked to their ruin.
Thlakdyng ing thlakche imkhui ce khawsimnaak ing toek nawh, thlakche taw a sai seetnaak caming plamtham hy.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be answered.
Khawdeng ak khyy awh ang haa ak bym taw amah ak khyy lawtawh haa bym pekna awm lawt kaw.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a present in the bosom strong wrath.
Ang hypna kutdo ing kawso qeem sak nawh, hibai khui awhkaw ang hyp kutdo ing ak tlo soeih kawso dip sak hy.
15 To do justly is joy to the righteous, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
Ak dyng awitlyknaak taw thlakdyng ham zeelnaakna awm nawh, thlakche ham thihnaak kawina awm hy.
16 The man that strayeth out of the way of understanding shall rest in the congregation of the shades.
Cyihnaak lam awhkawng ak pleng taw thlakthikhqi venawh cun kaw.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man; he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
Nawmnaak ak hlahdam ing khawdeng nawh, zu ingkaw situi ak lungnaak ing am boei kaw.
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; and the faithless cometh in the stead of the upright.
Thlakche taw thlakdyng ham, thlang amak ypawm taw thlang ypawm ham tlannaak ni.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
Kaw boen nawh hqo ak hu poepa nu ingqawi kutoetna awm haih anglakawh kqawng-qamna awm leek bet hy.
20 There is desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swalloweth it up.
Thlakcyi a awmnaak imkhui taw qo ingkaw situi a phuk tlo tlo ing bee nawh, thlakqaw a awmnaak imkhui taw awtoem aitoem kaw.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, prosperity, and honour.
Dyngnaak ingkaw lungnaak ak sui ing hqingnaak, dyngnaak ingkaw kyihcahnaakkhqi ce hu kaw.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and bringeth down the stronghold wherein it trusteth.
Thlakcyi ing thlang ak thamah soeih a khaw ce tlyk nawh a ypnaak vawng awm hqee pe hy.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
A hui am lai ak syyp sak thlang taw kyinaak awhkawng loet kaw.
24 A proud and haughty man, scorner is his name, even he that dealeth in overbearing pride.
Thlak oequ ingkaw ak hoel qu thlang taw “thlakche” mingna nawh oequnaak ing a khawboe bee hy.
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Thakdam thlang a ngaihnaak taw amah a thihnaakna awm kaw, a kut ing bibi a ngak caming.
26 There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Khawnghyyp khui kamvaanaak ing them ak nai awm nawh; thlakdyng ingtaw pe nawh, ikawm am hai hy.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more, when he bringeth it with the proceeds of wickedness?
Thlangthawlh hyih phum taw tuih leh kap nawh, amak leek cainaak ing a lawpyi khqoet taw kawmyih nanu tuih ang cuuk khqoet kaw!
28 A false witness shall perish; but the man that obeyeth shall speak unchallenged.
Amak thym simpyikung taw qeeng kawm saw; cehlai ak thym awi ak zaa ing awih thym ce kqawn hy.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face; but as for the upright, he looketh well to his way.
Thlakche ing qalleek mikhai toen qu sak nawh, thlakdyng ingtaw a cehnaak lamawh poek-ngaihnaak ta hy.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Bawipa ingqawi ak kalh qu cyihnaak, simnaak, khawkhannaak am awm hy.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle; but victory is of the LORD.
Meqang taw qal tuknaak hamna toenna awm moe, noengnaak taw Bawipa koe ni.
