Proverbs 21
1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever He will.
Сърцето на царя е в ръката на Господа, като водни бразди; Той на където иска го обръща.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the hearts.
Всичките пътища на човека са прави в неговите очи, Но Господ претегля сърцата.
3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Да върши човек правда и правосъдие Е по-угодно за Господа от жертва
4 A haughty look, and a proud heart — the tillage of the wicked is sin.
Надигнато око и горделиво сърце, Които за нечестивите са светилник, е грях.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.
Мислите на трудолюбивите спомагат само да има изобилие, А на всеки припрян само - оскъдност.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vapour driven to and fro; they that seek them seek death.
Придобиването на съкровища с лъжлив език е преходна пара; Които ги търсят, търсят смърт.
7 The violence of the wicked shall drag them away; because they refuse to do justly.
Грабителството на нечестивите ще ги обрече, Защото отказват да върнат това, което е право.
8 The way of man is froward and strange; but as for the pure, his work is right.
Пътят на развратния човек е твърде крив, А делото на чистия е право.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than in a house in common with a contentious woman.
По-добре да живее някой в ъгъл на покрива, Нежели в широка къща със свадлива жена.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil; his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
Душата на нечестивия желае зло, Ближният му не намира благоволение пред очите му.
11 When the scorner is punished, the thoughtless is made wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
Когато се накаже присмивателя, простият става по-мъдър, И когато се поучава мъдрия, той придобива знание,
12 The Righteous One considereth the house of the wicked; overthrowing the wicked to their ruin.
Справедливият Бог наблюдава дома на нечестивия, Той съсипва нечестивите до унищожение.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be answered.
Който затуля ушите си за вика на сиромаха, - Ще викне и той, но няма да бъде послушан.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a present in the bosom strong wrath.
Тайният подарък укротява ярост, И подаръкът в пазуха укротява силен гняв.
15 To do justly is joy to the righteous, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
Радост е на праведния да върши правосъдие, А измъчване е за ония, които вършат беззаконие.
16 The man that strayeth out of the way of understanding shall rest in the congregation of the shades.
Човек, който се отбие в пътя на разума, Ще стигне в събранието на мъртвите.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man; he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
Който обича удоволствие осиромашява, Който обича вино и масло не забогатява.
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; and the faithless cometh in the stead of the upright.
Нечестивият ще бъде откуп за праведния, И коварният наместо праведните.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
По-добре да живее някой в пуста земя, Нежели със свадлива жена и досада.
20 There is desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swalloweth it up.
Скъпоценно съкровище и масло се намират в жилището на мъдрия, А безумният човек ги поглъща.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, prosperity, and honour.
Който следва правда и милост, Намира живот, правда и милост,
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and bringeth down the stronghold wherein it trusteth.
Мъдрият превзема с пристъп града на мощните, И събаря силата, на която те уповават.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Който въздържа устата си и езика си Опазва душата си от смущения.
24 A proud and haughty man, scorner is his name, even he that dealeth in overbearing pride.
Присмивател се нарича оня горделив и надменен човек, Който действува с високоумна гордост.
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Желанието на ленивия го умъртвява, Защото ръцете му не искат да работят
26 There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Той се лакоми цял ден, А праведният дава и не му се свиди.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more, when he bringeth it with the proceeds of wickedness?
Жертвата на нечестивите е мерзост, - Колко повече, когато я принасят за нечестива цел!
28 A false witness shall perish; but the man that obeyeth shall speak unchallenged.
Лъжливият свидетел ще загине, А човекът, който слуша поука - ще го търсят да говори всякога.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face; but as for the upright, he looketh well to his way.
Нечестивият човек прави дръзко лицето си, А праведният оправя пътищата си.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Няма мъдрост, няма разум, Няма съвещание против Господа.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle; but victory is of the LORD.
Конят се приготвя за деня на боя, Но избавлението е от Господа.
