Proverbs 19
1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity than he that is perverse in his lips and a fool at the same time.
౧బుద్ధిహీనుడై కుటిలంగా మాట్లాడే వాడి కంటే యథార్థంగా ప్రవర్తించే పేదవాడే గొప్ప.
2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
౨ఆలోచన లేకుండా కోరికలుండడం మంచిది కాదు. తొందరపడి పరిగెత్తేవాడు దారి తప్పిపోతాడు.
3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way; and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
౩ఒకడి మూర్ఖత్వం వాడి బ్రతుకును ధ్వంసం చేస్తుంది. అలాటి వాడు యెహోవా మీద మండిపడతాడు.
4 Wealth addeth many friends; but as for the poor, his friend separateth himself from him.
౪సంపద స్నేహితులను సమకూరుస్తుంది. దరిద్రుడికి స్నేహితులు దూరమౌతారు.
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished; and he that breatheth forth lies shall not escape.
౫అబద్ద సాక్షికి శిక్ష తప్పదు. అబద్ధాలాడేవాడు తప్పించుకోలేడు.
6 Many will entreat the favour of the liberal man; and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
౬ఉదార గుణం గలవారిని చాలామంది సహాయం కోసం అడుగుతారు. ఇచ్చేవాడికి అందరూ స్నేహితులే.
7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He that pursueth words, they turn against him.
౭పేదవాణ్ణి అతని బంధువులంతా ఏవగించుకుంటారు. అలాగైతే అతని స్నేహితులు మరింకెంతగా దూరమైపోతారు! వాడు వాళ్ళను పిలుస్తాడు గానీ వాళ్ళక్కడ ఉండరు.
8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul; he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
౮బుద్ధి సంపాదించుకొనేవాడు తనకు తాను మేలు చేసుకుంటాడు. అవగాహన కలిగిన వాడు మేలైనదాన్ని కనుగొంటాడు.
9 A false witness shall not be unpunished; and he that breatheth forth lies shall perish.
౯అబద్ద సాక్షికి శిక్ష తప్పదు. అబద్ధాలాడేవాడు నాశనమౌతాడు.
10 Luxury is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
౧౦బుద్ధిహీనుడు సుఖ భోగాలనుభవించడం తగదు. ఒక బానిస రాజులపై ఏలుబడి చేయడం అంతకన్నా తగదు.
11 It is the discretion of a man to be slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
౧౧విచక్షణ ఒక మనిషికి సహనం ఇస్తుంది. తప్పులు చూసీ చూడనట్టు పోవడం అతనికి ఘనత.
12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
౧౨రాజు కోపం సింహగర్జన లాంటిది. అతని అనుగ్రహం గడ్డి మీద కురిసే మంచు లాంటిది.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father; and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
౧౩మూర్ఖుడైన కొడుకు తన తండ్రికి కీడు తెస్తాడు. గయ్యాళి భార్య ఆగకుండా పడుతూ ఉండే నీటి బిందువులతో సమానం.
14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers; but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
౧౪ఇల్లు, ధనం పూర్వికులనుండి వారసత్వంగా వస్తుంది. అయితే వివేకవతియైన ఇల్లాలిని ఇచ్చేది యెహోవాయే.
15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
౧౫సోమరితనం గాఢనిద్రలో పడేస్తుంది. పని చేయడం ఇష్టం లేని వాడు పస్తులుంటాడు.
16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; but he that despiseth His ways shall die.
౧౬ఆజ్ఞ పాటించేవాడు తన ప్రాణం కాపాడుకుంటాడు. తన ప్రవర్తన విషయం జాగ్రత్తగా చూసుకోనివాడు చచ్చిపోతాడు.
17 He that is gracious unto the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and his good deed will He repay unto him.
౧౭పేదలను ఆదుకోవడం అంటే యెహోవాకు అప్పివ్వడమే. ఆయన తప్పకుండా ఆ రుణం తీరుస్తాడు.
18 Chasten thy son, for there is hope; but set not thy heart on his destruction.
౧౮అనువైన కాలంలోనే నీ కుమారుణ్ణి శిక్షించు. అయితే వాణ్ణి చంపాలని చూడొద్దు.
19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if thou interpose, thou wilt add thereto.
౧౯పట్టరాని కోపంతో మండిపడే వాడు తప్పకుండా అందుకు తగిన శిక్ష పొందుతాడు. నువ్వు వాణ్ణి తప్పించినా పదే పదే అదే పని నువ్వు చేయవలసి వస్తుంది.
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
౨౦సలహా వినిపించుకో, సూచనలను అంగీకరించు. అలా చేశావంటే పెద్దవాడయ్యే నాటికి జ్ఞానివి అవుతావు.
21 There are many devices in a man's heart; but the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
౨౧మనిషి హృదయంలో ఆలోచనలు అనేకం. అయితే యెహోవా ఉద్దేశాలే నిలబడతాయి.
22 The lust of a man is his shame; and a poor man is better than a liar.
౨౨మనిషి హృదయం కోరేది నిబద్ధతే. అబద్ధికుడికంటే దరిద్రుడే మేలు.
23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life; and he that hath it shall abide satisfied, he shall not be visited with evil.
౨౩యెహోవాకు చెందవలసిన భయభక్తులు ఆయనకి చెల్లించాలి. అది జీవ సాధనం. అది ఉన్న వాడు తృప్తిగా బ్రతుకుతాడు.
24 The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not so much as bring it back to his mouth.
౨౪సోమరిపోతు గిన్నెలో చెయ్యి పెడతాడుగానీ తన నోటికి దాన్ని ఎత్తనైనా ఎత్తడు.
25 When thou smitest a scorner, the simple will become prudent; and when one that hath understanding is reproved, he will understand knowledge.
౨౫హేళన చేసే వారిని దండించు, అది చూసి ఆజ్ఞానులు బుద్ధి తెచ్చుకుంటారు. వివేకులను గద్దించినట్టయితే వారు జ్ఞానంలో ఎదుగుతారు.
26 A son that dealeth shamefully and reproachfully will despoil his father, and chase away his mother.
౨౬తండ్రిని బాధిస్తూ తల్లిని తరిమేసేవాడు సిగ్గు, అపకీర్తి తెచ్చే కొడుకు.
27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
౨౭కుమారా, బుద్ధి చెప్పే మాటలు వినడం మానుకుంటే జ్ఞాన వాక్కులకు నీవు దూరమై పోతావు.
28 An ungodly witness mocketh at right; and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
౨౮చెడిపోయిన సాక్షి న్యాయాన్ని గేలి చేస్తాడు. దుర్మార్గుల నోరు దోషాన్ని జుర్రుకుంటుంది.
29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
౨౯అపహాస్యం చేసేవారికి తీర్పు, బుద్ధిహీనుల వీపుకు దెబ్బలు.
