Proverbs 18
1 He that separateth himself seeketh his own desire, and snarlest against all sound wisdom.
ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರದವನು ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಛಾನುಸಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸುಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೂ ರೇಗುವನು.
2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may lay itself bare.
ವಿವೇಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಹೊರಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷ.
3 When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವವು ಬಂದಾಗ ತಾತ್ಸಾರವೂ, ಅವಮಾನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಂದೆಯೂ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.
4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters; a flowing brook, a fountain of wisdom.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಆಳವಾದ ನೀರಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯು ಹರಿಯುವ ತೊರೆಯಂತೆಯೂ ಇವೆ.
5 It is not good to respect the person of the wicked, so as to turn aside the righteous in judgment.
ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನು ಕೆಡವುವಂತೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತ ತೋರಿಸುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ.
6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಕಲಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಏಟುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.
7 A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಅವನ ನಾಶನ; ಅವನ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾಶ.
8 The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
ಚಾಡಿಕೋರನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ರುಚಿಕರವಾದ ತುತ್ತುಗಳು; ಅವು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯ ಒಳಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವುವು.
9 Even one that is slack in his work is brother to him that is a destroyer.
ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುವವನು, ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಸಹೋದರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is set up on high.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ನಾಮವು ಬಲವಾದ ಬುರುಜು; ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಅದರೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿ ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own conceit.
ಧನವಂತರ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೂ ಅವನ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಗೋಡೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.
12 Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, and before honour goeth humility.
ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯವು ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಠವಾಗಿರುವುದು; ಸನ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ದೀನತ್ವವು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
13 He that giveth answer before he heareth, it is folly and confusion unto him.
ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಅದು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೂ, ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.
14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a broken spirit who can bear?
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸುವುದು; ಆದರೆ ಮುರಿದ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು?
15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
ವಿವೇಕಿಯ ಹೃದಯವು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ಕಿವಿಯು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತದೆ.
16 A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ; ಅದು ದೊಡ್ಡವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ.
17 He that pleadeth his cause first seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him out.
ಪ್ರತಿವಾದಿ ಬಂದು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ, ಮೊದಲು ವಾದಿಸುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯವಂತನೆಂದು ತೋರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
18 The lot causeth strife to cease, and parteth asunder the contentious.
ಚೀಟು ಹಾಕುವುದರಿಂದ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಶಮನ; ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಪ್ರತಿವಾದಿಗಳ ವಿವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city; and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
ಬಲವಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟಕರ; ಅವರ ಕಲಹಗಳು ಕೋಟೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ಅಗುಳಿಗಳಂತೆ ಇವೆ.
20 A man's belly shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; with the increase of his lips shall he be satisfied.
ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಫಲದಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯು ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದುವುದು; ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳ ಆದಾಯದಿಂದ ಅವನು ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that indulge it shall eat the fruit thereof.
ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಮರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿದೆ; ಅದನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವರು ಅದರ ಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವರು.
22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a great good, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ದೊರಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದವನಾಗಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ.
23 The poor useth entreaties; but the rich answereth impudently.
ಬಡವನು ಕರುಣೆಗಾಗಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಧನಿಕನು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
24 There are friends that one hath to his own hurt; but there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹರಲ್ಲದ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನು ಶೀಘ್ರವೇ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಸಹೋದರನಿಗಿಂತ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
