< Proverbs 16 >
1 The preparations of the heart are man's, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
Yore duto mag dhano nenorene ni longʼo, to Jehova Nyasaye ema ongʼeyo mopondo mag chuny.
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Ket gimoro amora mitimo e lwet Jehova Nyasaye, to chenrogi biro dhi maber.
4 The LORD hath made every things for His own purpose, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Gik moko duto ma Jehova Nyasaye timo oseketo gikogi, kendo giko mar joricho en tho.
5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; my hand upon it! he shall not be unpunished.
Jehova Nyasaye odagi ji duto man-gi sunga e chunygi. Ngʼe ma malongʼo: Ok ginitony ni kum.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is expiated; and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
Nikech hera kod adiera ema omiyo richo otimne misango, kuom luoro Jehova Nyasaye miyo ngʼato kwedo richo.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Ka yore ngʼato moro Jehova Nyasaye, to omiyo kata wasike dak kode gi kwe.
8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.
Ber bedo gi matin kod tim makare, moloyo mangʼeny kod tim ma ok kare.
9 A man's heart deviseth his way; but the LORD directeth his steps.
E chuny dhano ochano yore, to Jehova Nyasaye ema telone ondamo mage.
10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king; his mouth trespasseth not in judgment.
Ruoth wuoyo kaka chik mar Nyasaye dwaro, to dhoge ok onego ndhog bura makare.
11 A just balance and scales are the LORD'S; all the weights of the bag are His work.
Rapim mopogore opogore makare aa kuom Jehova Nyasaye, to gik mipimogo manie mifuke gin meke moloso.
12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; for the throne is established by righteousness.
Ruodhi mon gi timbe maricho, nikech kom mar loch obedo mana kuom tim makare.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
Ruodhi ohero joma wacho adiera kendo gigeno ngʼat mawacho adiera.
14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death; but a wise man will pacify it.
Mirimb ruoth en jaote mar tho, to ngʼat mariek biro hoye.
15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
Ka wangʼ ruoth nenore mamor to nitiere ngima, ngʼwonone chalo gi rumbi mag koth e ndalo chwiri.
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
To ber maromo nade yudo rieko moloyo dhahabu, yiero ngʼeyo tiend wach moloyo fedha!
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
Yor ngʼat moriere tir kwedore gi richo; ngʼat manono yorene orito ngimane!
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Sunga kelo masira, chuny mar ngʼayi kelo chwanyruok.
19 Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the humble, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Ber bedo gi chuny mobolore e dier jochan, moloyo pogo gik moyaki gi josunga.
20 He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
Ngʼato angʼata mawinjo puonj dhi maber, to ojahawi ngʼatno moketo genone kuom Jehova Nyasaye.
21 The wise in heart is called a man of discernment; and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
Ngʼat man-gi paro en ngʼat mariek, kendo weche mowacho gin mana puonj.
22 Understanding is a fountain of life unto him that hath it; but folly is the chastisement of fools.
Winjo wach en soko mar ngima ne jogo man kode, to fuwo kelo kum ne joma ofuwo.
23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
Ngʼat mariek rito weche mawuok e dhoge, kendo wechene mowinjore kelo puonj makare.
24 Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Weche mag mor chalo gi mor kich gimit ne chuny kendo gikelo ngima ni choke.
25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Nitie yo manenore ne dhano ni nikare, to gikone otero mana ngʼato e tho.
26 The hunger of the labouring man laboureth for him; for his mouth compelleth him.
Miluma ma jatich nigo miyo otiyo matek, kendo kech makaye miyo omedo tiyo matek.
27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil, and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
Ngʼat marach chano timo timbe maricho, to wechene chalo mach mager.
28 A froward man soweth strife; and a whisperer separateth familiar friends.
Ngʼat ma timbene richo kelo mana miero, to jakwoth pogo osiepe moherore.
29 A man of violence enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into a way that is not good.
Ngʼat ma ja-mahundu wuondo jabute mi otere e yorno ma ok ber.
30 He that shutteth his eyes, it is to devise froward things; he that biteth his lips bringeth evil to pass.
Tangʼ gi ngʼat ma buonjo kodi nikech onyalo bet ni ochano timoni marach, ngʼatno maluwo dhoge ochomo timbe maricho.
31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, it is found in the way of righteousness.
Lwar en osimbo mar duongʼ to iyude gi ngʼat man-gi ngima makare.
32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Ngʼat ma terore mos ber moloyo jalweny, ngʼat makweyo mirimbe ber moloyo ngʼat mamonjo dala maduongʼ.
33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
Igoyo ombulu mondo ongʼe gima ditim, to kuom ngʼado weche duto Jehova Nyasaye ema tieko.
