Proverbs 15
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath; but a grievous word stirreth up anger.
Con una respuesta suave, la ira es rechazada, pero una palabra amarga es causa de sentimientos de enojo.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
El conocimiento fluye de la lengua del sabio; pero de la boca del insensato viene una corriente de palabras necias.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.
Los ojos del Señor están en todo lugar, vigilando el mal y el bien.
4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a wound to the spirit.
Una lengua reconfortante es un árbol de la vida, pero una lengua torcida es un aplastamiento del espíritu.
5 A fool despiseth his father's correction; but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
El necio no le da valor al adiestramiento de su padre; pero el que tiene respeto por la enseñanza tiene buen sentido.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure; but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
En la casa del hombre recto hay gran cantidad de riquezas; pero en las ganancias del pecador hay problemas.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge; but the heart of the foolish is not stedfast.
Los labios de los sabios guardan el conocimiento, pero el corazón del necio hace lo contrario.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
La ofrenda del malhechor es repugnante para el Señor, pero la oración del hombre recto es su delicia.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; but He loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
El camino del malhechor es repugnante para el Señor, pero el que va tras la justicia le es querido.
10 There is grievous correction for him that forsaketh the way; and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Hay un castigo amargo para el que se apartó del camino; y la muerte será el destino del enemigo de la enseñanza.
11 The nether-world and Destruction are before the LORD; how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol h7585)
Ante el Señor está el infierno y la destrucción: ¡cuánto más, entonces, los corazones de los hijos de los hombres! (Sheol h7585)
12 A scorner loveth not to be reproved; he will not go unto the wise.
El que odia a la autoridad no ama la enseñanza; no irá al sabio.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance; but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
Un corazón alegre hace una cara resplandeciente, pero por el dolor del corazón, el espíritu se rompe.
14 The heart of him that hath discernment seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
El corazón del hombre de buen sentido va en busca del conocimiento, pero las tonterías son el alimento de los imprudentes.
15 All the days of the poor are evil; but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Todos los días de los atribulados son malos; pero aquel cuyo corazón está contento tiene una fiesta interminable.
16 Better is little with the fear of the LORD, than great treasure and turmoil therewith.
Mejor es un poco con el temor del Señor, que grandes riquezas junto con problemas.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Mejor es una comida sencilla donde está el amor, que un buey gordo y odio con él.
18 A wrathful man stirreth up discord; but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Un hombre enojado hace que los hombres perezcan, pero el que tarda en enojarse pone fin a la lucha.
19 The way of the sluggard is as though hedged by thorns; but the path of the upright is even.
Las espinas están en el camino del enemigo del trabajo; pero el camino del trabajador duro se convierte en una carretera.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
El hijo sabio alegra al padre, pero el necio no respeta a su madre.
21 Folly is joy to him that lacketh understanding; but a man of discernment walketh straightforwards.
El comportamiento necio es alegría para los imprudentes; pero un hombre de buen sentido endereza camino.
22 For want of counsel purposes are frustrated; but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Donde no hay sugerencias sabias, los propósitos llegan a nada; pero por multitud de guías sabios se afirman.
23 A man hath joy in the answer of his mouth; and a word in due season, how good is it!
El hombre tiene alegría en la respuesta de su boca; y una palabra en el momento correcto, ¡qué bueno es!
24 The path of life goeth upward for the wise, that he may depart from the nether-world beneath. (Sheol h7585)
Actuar sabiamente es la forma de vida que guía a un hombre lejos del inframundo. (Sheol h7585)
25 The LORD will pluck up the house of the proud; but He will establish the border of the widow.
La casa del hombre de orgullo será desarraigada por el Señor, pero él salvará la herencia de la viuda.
26 The thoughts of wickedness are an abomination to the LORD; but words of pleasantness are pure.
Los designios malvados son repugnantes para el Señor, pero las palabras de los limpios son agradables.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Aquel cuyos deseos están fijos en la codicia es una causa de problemas para su familia; pero el que no desea sobornos tendrá vida.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
El corazón del recto reflexiona sobre su respuesta; pero de la boca del malvado surge una corriente de cosas malvadas.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked; but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.
El Señor está lejos de ser pecadores, pero su oído está abierto a la oración de los rectos.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart; and a good report maketh the bones fat.
La luz de los ojos es una alegría para el corazón, y las buenas noticias conforta los huesos.
31 The ear that hearkeneth to the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
El hombre cuya oreja está abierta a la enseñanza de la vida tendrá su lugar entre los sabios.
32 He that refuseth correction despiseth his own soul; but he that hearkeneth to reproof getteth understanding.
El que no será controlado por el entrenamiento no tiene respeto por su alma, pero el que escucha la enseñanza obtendrá sabiduría.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour goeth humility.
El temor de Jehová es la enseñanza de la sabiduría; y una baja opinión de uno mismo va antes que el honor.
