Proverbs 14
1 Every wise woman buildeth her house; but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
೧ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಳು.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD; but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth Him.
೨ಸರಳಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವನು, ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡುವನು.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
೩ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವು.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
೪ಎತ್ತುಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ಗೋದಲಿಯು ಶುದ್ಧ, ಆದರೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದು.
5 A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness breatheth forth lies.
೫ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡನು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಆಡುವನು.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; but knowledge is easy unto him that hath discernment.
೬ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕದು, ವಿವೇಕಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, for thou wilt not perceive the lips of knowledge.
೭ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಾರೆ.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to look well to his way; but the folly of fools is deceit.
೮ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಜಾಣನ ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಮೂಢರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನ ಮೋಸಕರ.
9 Amends pleadeth for fools; but among the upright there is good will.
೯ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನು ಅವರ ದೋಷವೇ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರಲ್ಲಿ (ದೇವರ) ದಯೆಯಿರುವುದು.
10 The heart knoweth its own bitterness; and with its joy no stranger can intermeddle.
೧೦ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವನ್ನು ತಾನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಅವನ ಆನಂದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
೧೧ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಗೆ ನಾಶನ, ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳಿಗೆ.
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
೧೨ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ತೋರುವ ಒಂದು ದಾರಿಯುಂಟು. ಅದು ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗೆ ಮರಣಮಾರ್ಗವೇ.
13 Even in laughter the heart acheth; and the end of mirth is heaviness.
೧೩ನಗುವವನಿಗೂ ಮನೋವ್ಯಥೆಯುಂಟು, ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ವ್ಯಾಕುಲವೇ.
14 The dissembler in heart shall have his fill from his own ways; and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
೧೪ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನು ಕರ್ಮಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ತಿಂದು ದಣಿಯುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗುವನು.
15 The thoughtless believeth every word; but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
೧೫ಮೂಢನು ಯಾವ ಮಾತನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಂಬುವನು, ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸುವನು.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil; but the fool behaveth overbearingly, and is confident.
೧೬ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಓರೆಯಾಗುವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸನು.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly; and a man of wicked devices is hated.
೧೭ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರನು.
18 The thoughtless come into possession of folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
೧೮ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ ಸ್ವತ್ತು, ಜಾಣರಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಕಿರೀಟ.
19 The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
೧೯ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಗುವರು, ದುಷ್ಟರು ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬೀಳುವರು.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour; but the rich hath many friends.
೨೦ಬಡವನು ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ, ಧನವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಜನ ಮಿತ್ರರು.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious unto the humble, happy is he.
೨೧ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ದೋಷಿ, ದರಿದ್ರನನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.
22 Shall they not go astray that devise evil? But mercy and truth shall be for them that devise good.
೨೨ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರು ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದವರೇ ಸರಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸತ್ಯತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರು.
23 In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
೨೩ಶ್ರಮೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ, ಹರಟೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊರತೆ.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches; but the folly of fools remaineth folly.
೨೪ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾನಕಿರೀಟವೇ ಅವರ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವು ಬರೀ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವೇ.
25 A true witness delivereth souls; but he that breatheth forth lies is all deceit.
೨೫ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಪ್ರಾಣರಕ್ಷಕ, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ವಂಚಕ.
26 In the fear of the LORD a man hath strong confidence; and his children shall have a place of refuge.
೨೬ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ ನಿರ್ಭಯ, ಆತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವಿದ್ದೇ ಇರುವುದು.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
೨೭ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯ ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ, ಮೃತ್ಯುಪಾಶದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅದು ಸಾಧನವಾಗಿದೆ.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's glory; but in the want of people is the ruin of the prince.
೨೮ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ರಾಜನ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ನಾಶ ಪ್ರಭುವಿಗೆ ಭಯ.
29 He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
೨೯ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತನು ಕೇವಲ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಧ್ವಜವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತುವನು.
30 A tranquil heart is the life of the flesh; but envy is the rottenness of the bones.
೩೦ಶಾಂತಗುಣವು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಾಧಾರವು, ಕ್ರೋಧವು ಎಲುಬಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಯವು.
31 He that oppresseth the poor blasphemeth his Maker; but he that is gracious unto the needy honoureth Him.
೩೧ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹೀನೈಸುವನು, ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುವನು.
32 The wicked is thrust down in his misfortune; but the righteous, even when he is brought to death, hath hope.
೩೨ದುಷ್ಟನು ವಿಪತ್ತಿಗೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಮರಣಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಹೊಂದುವನು.
33 In the heart of him that hath discernment wisdom resteth; but in the inward part of fools it maketh itself known.
೩೩ವಿವೇಕಿಯ ಹೃದಯ ಜ್ಞಾನಾಶ್ರಯ, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಕಾಣದು.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.
೩೪ಪ್ರಜೆಗೆ ಧರ್ಮವು ಉನ್ನತಿ, ಅಧರ್ಮವು ಅವಮಾನ.
35 The king's favour is toward a servant that dealeth wisely; but his wrath striketh him that dealeth shamefully.
೩೫ಜಾಣನಾದ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ಕೃಪೆ, ಮಾನಗೇಡಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ರೌದ್ರ.
