Proverbs 13
1 A wise son is instructed of his father; but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
Сын благоразумный послушлив отцу, сын же непокорливый в погибель.
2 A man shall eat good from the fruit of his mouth; but the desire of the faithless is violence.
От плодов правды снесть благий: душы же беззаконных погибают безвременно.
3 He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; but for him that openeth wide his lips there shall be ruin.
Иже хранит своя уста, соблюдает свою душу: продерзивый же устнама устрашит себе.
4 The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be abundantly gratified.
В похотех есть всяк праздный: руки же мужественных в прилежании.
5 A righteous man hateth lying; but a wicked man behaveth vilely and shamefully.
Словесе неправедна ненавидит праведник: нечестивый же стыдится и не возимет дерзновения.
6 Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
Правда хранит незлобивыя: нечестивыя же злы творит грех.
7 There is that pretendeth himself rich, yet hath nothing; there is that pretendeth himself poor, yet hath great wealth.
Суть богатяще себе, ничесоже имуще: и суть смиряющеся во мнозе богатстве.
8 The ransom of a man's life are his riches; but the poor heareth no threatening.
Избавление мужа души свое ему богатство: нищий же не терпит прещения.
9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
Свет праведным всегда, свет же нечестивых угасает: души льстивыя заблуждают во гресех, праведнии же щедрят и милуют.
10 By pride cometh only contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.
Злый с досаждением творит злая: себе же знающии премудри (суть).
11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished; but he that gathereth little by little shall increase.
Имение поспешаемо со беззаконием умалено бывает, собираяй же себе со благочестием изобилствовати будет: праведный щедрит и дает.
12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
Лучше начинаяй помогати сердцем обещающаго и в надежду ведущаго: древо бо жизни желание доброе.
13 Whoso despiseth the word shall suffer thereby; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
Иже презирает вещь, презрен будет от нея: а бояйся заповеди, сей здравствует. Сыну лукавому ничтоже есть благо: рабу же мудру благопоспешна будут дела, и исправится путь его.
14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Закон мудрому источник жизни: безумный же от сети умрет.
15 Good understanding giveth grace; but the way of the faithless is harsh.
Разум благ дает благть: разумети же закон, мысли есть благия: путие же презирающих в погибели.
16 Every prudent man dealeth with forethought; but a fool unfoldeth folly.
Всяк хитрый творит с разумом, безумный же прострет свою злобу.
17 A wicked messenger falleth into evil; but a faithful ambassador is health.
Царь дерзостен впадет во злая, вестник же мудр избавит его.
18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
Нищету и безчестие отемлет наказание: храняй же обличения прославится.
19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; and it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
Желания благочестивых наслаждают душу, дела же нечестивых далече от разума.
20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but the companion of fools shall smart for it.
Ходяй с премудрыми премудр будет, ходяй же с безумными познан будет.
21 Evil pursueth sinners; but to the righteous good shall be repaid.
Согрешающих постигнут злая, праведных же постигнут благая.
22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.
Благ муж наследит сыны сынов: сокровищствуется же праведным богатство нечестивых.
23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor; but there is that is swept away by want of righteousness.
Праведнии насладятся в богатстве лета многа: неправеднии же погибнут вскоре.
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Иже щадит жезл (свой), ненавидит сына своего: любяй же наказует прилежно.
25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his desire; but the belly of the wicked shall want.
Праведный ядый насыщает душу свою: душы же нечестивых скудны.
