Proverbs 12
1 Whoso loveth knowledge loveth correction; but he that is brutish hateth reproof.
೧ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
2 A good man shall obtain favour of the LORD; but a man of wicked devices will He condemn.
೨ಯೆಹೋವನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಿಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸುವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನನ್ನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸುವನು.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall never be moved.
೩ಯಾರೂ ದುಷ್ಟತನದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಿರನಾಗನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ದೃಢಮೂಲನೇ.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; but she that doeth shamefully is as rottenness in his bones.
೪ಗುಣವತಿಯಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಪತಿಯ ತಲೆಗೆ ಕಿರೀಟ, ಮಾನ ಕಳೆಯುವವಳು ಪತಿಯ ಎಲುಬಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಯ.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right; but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
೫ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ನ್ಯಾಯ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮೋಸ.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
೬ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಮಾತು ರಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂಚು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರ ನುಡಿ ಪ್ರಾಣರಕ್ಷಣೆ.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not; but the house of the righteous shall stand.
೭ದುರ್ಜನರು ಕೆಡವಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲರಾಗುವರು, ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಮನೆಯು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದು.
8 A man shall be commended according to his intelligence; but he that is of a distorted understanding shall be despised.
೮ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಹೊಗಳುವರು, ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವರು.
9 Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that playeth the man of rank, and lacketh bread.
೯ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗಿಲ್ಲದ ಡಾಂಭಿಕನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಸೇವಕನುಳ್ಳ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯೇ ಲೇಸು.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
೧೦ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಪಶುಗಳ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ದುಷ್ಟನ ವಾತ್ಸಲ್ಯವೋ ಕ್ರೂರತನವೇ.
11 He that tilleth his ground shall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain things is void of understanding.
೧೧ದುಡಿದು ಹೊಲಗೇಯುವವನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಾ ಉಣ್ಣುವನು, ವ್ಯರ್ಥಕಾರ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನೇ.
12 The wicked desireth the prey of evil men; but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
೧೨ಕೆಡುಕರ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯು ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟ, ಆದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ಬುಡ ಫಲದಾಯಕ.
13 In the transgression of the lips is a snare to the evil man; but the righteous cometh out of trouble.
೧೩ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳ ದೋಷದಿಂದ ಬೋನಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಪಾರಾಗುವನು.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the doings of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
೧೪ಬಾಯಿಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವನು, ಅವನ ಕೈಕೆಲಸದ ಫಲವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾಗುವುದು.
15 The way of a fool is straight in his own eyes; but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.
೧೫ಮೂರ್ಖನ ನಡತೆ ಅವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಉಚಿತಾಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವನು.
16 A fool's vexation is presently known; but a prudent man concealeth shame.
೧೬ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ತಟ್ಟನೆ ರಟ್ಟಾಗುವುದು, ಜಾಣನು ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡುವನು.
17 He that breatheth forth truth uttereth righteousness; but a false witness deceit.
೧೭ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವನು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನುಡಿಯುವನು.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is health.
೧೮ಕತ್ತಿ ತಿವಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ದುಡುಕಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವರುಂಟು, ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಮಾತು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯನ್ನು ತರುವುದು.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
೧೯ಸತ್ಯದ ತುಟಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತ, ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಣಿಕ.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
೨೦ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಸ, ಹಿತೋಪದೇಶಕರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ.
21 There shall no mischief befall the righteous; but the wicked are filled with evil.
೨೧ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸದು, ದುರ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೇಡು ತುಂಬಿ ತುಳುಕುವುದು.
22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD; but they that deal truly are His delight.
೨೨ಸುಳ್ಳುತುಟಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ. ಸತ್ಯವಂತರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಆನಂದ ತರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge; but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
೨೩ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಗುಪ್ತಪಡಿಸುವನು, ಮೂಢರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುವುದು.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be under tribute.
೨೪ಚುರುಕುಗೈಯವನಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಮೈಗಳ್ಳನಿಗೆ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ಬದುಕು.
25 Care in the heart of a man boweth it down; but a good word maketh it glad.
೨೫ಕಳವಳವು ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸುವುದು, ಕನಿಕರದ ಮಾತು ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸುವುದು.
26 The righteous is guided by his friend; but the way of the wicked leadeth them astray.
೨೬ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗತೋರಿಸುವನು, ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಮಾರ್ಗತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು.
27 The slothful man shall not hunt his prey; but the precious substance of men is to be diligent.
೨೭ಮೈಗಳ್ಳನು ಹಿಡಿದ ಬೇಟೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸಲಾರನು, ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನಿಗೆ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ದೊರಕುವುದು.
28 In the way of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
೨೮ಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ಜೀವಲಾಭವು, ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣವಿಲ್ಲ.
