Proverbs 10
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
১জ্ঞানবান ছেলে বাবার আনন্দজনক, কিন্তু বুদ্ধিহীন ছেলে মায়ের বেদনাজনক।
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.
২দুষ্টতার দ্বারা সঞ্চিত ধনের কোনো মূল্য নেই, কিন্তু ধার্ম্মিকতা মৃত্যু থেকে রক্ষা করে।
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; but He thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.
৩সদাপ্রভু ধার্ম্মিকের প্রাণ ক্ষুধায় দুর্বল হতে দেন না; কিন্তু তিনি দুষ্টদের অভিলাষ ব্যর্থ করেন।
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
৪যে অলস হাতে কাজ করে, সে দরিদ্র হয়; কিন্তু পরিশ্রমীদের হাত ধনবান করে।
5 A wise son gathereth in summer; but a son that doeth shamefully sleepeth in harvest.
৫যে গ্রীষ্মকালে সঞ্চয় করে, সে বুদ্ধিমান ছেলে; যে শস্য কাটবার দিন ঘুমিয়ে থাকে, তার জন্য লজ্জাকর।
6 Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
৬ধার্ম্মিকের মাথায় অনেক আশীর্বাদ থাকে; কিন্তু দুষ্টদের মুখ হিংস্রতা ঢেকে রাখে।
7 The memory of the righteous shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot.
৭একজন লোক যে সঠিক কাজ করেছে তা আমাদেরকে আনন্দিত করে যখন আমরা তার বিষয়ে ভাবি; কিন্তু দুষ্টদের নাম সরে যাবে।
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments; but a prating fool shall fall.
৮যে বিচক্ষণ সে আদেশ গ্রহণ করে, কিন্তু অজ্ঞান বাচাল পতিত হবে।
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be found out.
৯সে সততায় চলে, সে নির্ভয়ে চলে; কিন্তু কুটিলাচারীকে চেনা যাবে।
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; and a prating fool shall fall.
১০যে চোখ দিয়ে ইশারা করে, সে দুঃখ দেয়; আর তার অজ্ঞান বাচাল তাকে ধ্বংস করে।
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
১১ধার্ম্মিকের মুখ জীবনের উনুই; কিন্তু দুষ্টদের মুখ হিংস্রতা ঢেকে রাখে।
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes; but love covereth all transgressions.
১২ঘৃণা ঝগড়া বাড়ায়, কিন্তু প্রেম সব অধর্ম্ম ঢেকে দেয়।
13 In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
১৩জ্ঞানবানের ঠোঁটে প্রজ্ঞা পাওয়া যায়, কিন্তু বুদ্ধিবিহীনের পেছনে দন্ড রয়েছে।
14 Wise men lay up knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish is an imminent ruin.
১৪জ্ঞানবানেরা জ্ঞান সঞ্চয় করে, কিন্তু অজ্ঞানের মুখ সর্বনাশকে কাছে নিয়ে আসে।
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the ruin of the poor is their poverty.
১৫ধনবানের ধনই তার শক্তিশালী নগর, দরিদ্রদের দারিদ্রতাই তাদের সর্বনাশ।
16 The wages of the righteous is life; the increase of the wicked is sin.
১৬ধার্ম্মিকের পারিশ্রমিক জীবনজনক, দুষ্টদের লাভ পাপজনক।
17 He is in the way of life that heedeth instruction; but he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
১৭যে শাসন মানে, সে জীবন পথে চলে; কিন্তু যে অনুযোগ মানেনা, সে পথভ্রষ্ট হয়।
18 He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; and he that uttereth a slander is a fool.
১৮যে ঘৃণা করে ঢেকে রাখে, তার ঠোঁট মিথ্যাবাদী; এবং যে অপবাদ ছড়ায়, সে বোকা।
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
১৯প্রচুর বাক্যে অধর্ম্ম অনুপস্থিত থাকে না; কিন্তু যে তাতে সাবধান থাকে যা সে বলে, সেই হল জ্ঞানী।
20 The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth.
২০ধার্ম্মিকের জিভ বিশুদ্ধ রূপার মত, দুষ্টদের হৃদয়ের মূল্য কম।
21 The lips of the righteous feed many; but the foolish die for want of understanding.
২১ধার্ম্মিকের ঠোঁট অনেককে প্রতিপালন করে, কিন্তু অজ্ঞানেরা বুদ্ধির অভাবে মারা পড়ে।
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and toil addeth nothing thereto.
২২সদাপ্রভুর ভালো উপহার ধনসম্পদ আনে এবং তিনি তার সঙ্গে দুঃখ যুক্ত করেন না।
23 It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness, and so is wisdom to a man of discernment.
২৩খারাপ কাজ করা অজ্ঞানের আনন্দ, আর প্রজ্ঞা বুদ্ধিমানের আনন্দ।
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; and the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
২৪দুষ্ট যা ভয় করে, তার প্রতি তাই ঘটবে; কিন্তু ধার্ম্মিকদের ইচ্ছা সফল হবে।
25 When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
২৫যখন ঘূর্ণবায়ু বয়ে যায়, দুষ্ট আর নেই; কিন্তু ধার্মিক চিরস্থায়ী ভিত্তিমূলের মত।
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
২৬যেমন দাঁতের পক্ষে অম্লরস ও চোখের পক্ষে ধোঁয়া, তেমনি নিজের প্রেরণ কর্তাদের পক্ষে অলস।
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
২৭সদাপ্রভুর ভয় আয়ুবৃদ্ধি করে, কিন্তু দুষ্টদের বছরের সংখ্যা কমবে।
28 The hope of the righteous is gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
২৮ধার্ম্মিকদের প্রত্যাশা আনন্দজনক; কিন্তু দুষ্টদের আশ্বাস কম হবে।
29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
২৯সদাপ্রভুর পথ সততার পক্ষে দুর্গ, কিন্তু তা অধর্মাচারীদের পক্ষে সর্বনাশ।
30 The righteous shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land.
৩০ধার্মিক লোক কখনও নিপাতিত হবে না; কিন্তু দুষ্টরা দেশে থাকবে না।
31 The mouth of the righteous buddeth with wisdom; but the froward tongue shall be cut off.
৩১ধার্ম্মিকের মুখ প্রজ্ঞার ফলে ফলবান্; কিন্তু বিপথগামীদের জিভ কাটা যাবে।
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is all frowardness.
৩২ধার্ম্মিকের ঠোঁট গ্রহণযোগ্যতার বিষয় জানে, কিন্তু দুষ্টদের মুখ কুটিলতামাত্র।
