< Obadiah 1 >
1 THE VISION of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom: We have heard a message from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations: 'Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.'
Ọhụ nke Ọbadaya hụrụ. Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu banyere Edọm. Anyị anụla ozi si nʼọnụ Onyenwe anyị, e zipụla onyeozi ka ọ gaa mba niile dị iche iche zie ha ozi, sị, “Bilikwanụ ka anyị gaa buo agha megide ya.”
2 Behold, I make thee small among the nations; thou art greatly despised.
“Lee, aga m eme ka ị dị nta nʼetiti mba dị iche iche; ị ga-abụ ihe a na-elelị anya nke ukwuu.
3 The pride of thy heart hath beguiled thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, thy habitation on high; that sayest in thy heart: 'Who shall bring me down to the ground?'
Nganga nke obi gị eduhiela gị, gị onye bi na mgbawa niile nke nkume dị elu, onye ebe obibi ya dị nʼebe dị oke elu. Gị onye na-ekwu nʼime obi ya, ‘Onye ga-akpụdata m nʼala?’
4 Though thou make thy nest as high as the eagle, and though thou set it among the stars, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
A sịkwarị na i felie elu dịka ugo, ọ bụrụkwa na ị kpaa akwụ gị nʼetiti kpakpando, aga m esite nʼebe ahụ kpụdata gị nʼala.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night — how art thou cut off! — would they not steal till they had enough? If grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?
“Ọ bụrụ na ndị ohi abịakwute gị, e, ọ bụrụ na ndị na-apụnara mmadụ ihe abịakwute gị nʼetiti abalị, lee, ụdị mbibi na-echere ịdakwasị gị! Ọ bụghị naanị ihe ha chọrọ ka ha ga-ezuru? Ọ bụrụ na ndị na-aghọ mkpụrụ vaịnị abịakwute gị, ọ bụ na ha agaghị ahapụrụ gị mkpụrụ ole na ole?
6 How is Esau searched out! How are his hidden places sought out!
Ma lee ka e si nyochapụtachaa ebe niile Ịsọ debere akụ ya, lekwaa ka e si chịkọrọ akụ ya niile bụ nke zoro ezo!
7 All the men of thy confederacy have conducted thee to the border; the men that were at peace with thee have beguiled thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread lay a snare under thee, in whom there is no discernment.
Ndị enyi gị niile aghọgbuola gị, nwee ike imegide gị, ndị gị na ha na-adị na mma achụrụla gị ruo nʼoke ala; ndị gị na ha na-erikọ nri gị ga-esiri gị ọnya igbudu, ma ị gaghị achọpụta ya.
8 Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and discernment out of the mount of Esau?
“Nʼụbọchị ahụ,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, “ọ bụ na mụ agaghị ala ndị oke amamihe niile nọ nʼEdọm nʼiyi, bụ ndị nwere mmụọ nghọta nọ nʼugwu Ịsọ?
9 And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.
Ndị gị bụ dike nʼagha, o Teman, ka ụjọ ga-eri. Onye ọbụlakwa nọ nʼugwu Ịsọ niile, ka a ga-egbuda nʼagha.
10 For the violence done to thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
Nʼihi na i gbuola ma mesokwa nwanne gị bụ Jekọb ihe ike. Ihere ga-ekpuchi gị; a ga-alakwa gị nʼiyi ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
11 In the day that thou didst stand aloof, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
Nʼụbọchị ahụ, ị nọọrọ onwe gị, na-ele ndị ọbịa ka ha na-akwakọrọcha akụnụba ya, sitekwa nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ya gafee fee nza iji kerie Jerusalem. Ị dịkwa ka otu onye nʼime ha.
12 But thou shouldest not have gazed on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
Ma ị garaghị eleda nwanne gị anya nʼụbọchị nsogbu ya, ị garaghị aṅụ ndị Juda nʼụbọchị ahụ e bibiri ha. Ị garaghị anyara ha isi nʼụbọchị ahụ ha nọ na nsogbu.
13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of My people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have gazed on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity.

14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
I kwesighị ịnọchi na ngalaba ụzọ igbu ndị na-agbapụ ọsọ ndụ, maọbụ were ndị ha fọdụrụ ndụ nyefee ha nʼaka ndị iro ha, nʼụbọchị nsogbu ha.
15 For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations; as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.
“Ụbọchị nke Onyenwe anyị dị nso nye mba niile. Dịka i si mee ndị ọzọ, otu ahụ ka a ga-eme gị; ihe i metara ga-adị gị nʼisi.

18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken.
Ụlọ Jekọb ga-abụ ọkụ, ụlọ Josef ga-abụkwa ire ọkụ: ma ụlọ Ịsọ ga-aghọkwa ukwu ọka. Ha ga-esunyekwa ha ọkụ ma rechapụ ya. Ọ dịkwaghị ndị ga-afọdụ ndụ site nʼụlọ Ịsọ.” Onyenwe anyị ekwuola ya.
19 And they of the South shall possess the mount of Esau, and they of the Lowland the Philistines; and they shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria; and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
