Numbers 3
1 Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in mount Sinai.
Estos son los descendientes de Aarón y Moisés, el día cuando Yavé habló con Moisés en la Montaña Sinaí.
2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Estos, pues, son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón: Nadab, el primogénito, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.
3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.
Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes ungidos, a quienes él consagró para ejercer el sacerdocio.
4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the presence of Aaron their father.
Pero Nadab y Abiú murieron delante de Yavé cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño ante Yavé en el desierto de Sinaí, y no tuvieron hijos. Eleazar e Itamar ejercieron el sacerdocio en presencia de su padre Aarón.
5 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
Yavé habló a Moisés:
6 'Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
Haz que se presente la tribu de Leví y que esté ante el sacerdote Aarón para que le sirvan.
7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.
Cumplirán lo que él les encomiende para él y para toda la congregación delante del Tabernáculo de Reunión.
8 And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
Cuidarán todos los utensilios del Tabernáculo de Reunión, y lo encargado a ellos por los hijos de Israel para el servicio del Tabernáculo.
9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given unto him from the children of Israel.
Darás así los levitas a Aarón y a sus hijos. Ellos le son completamente dados de entre los hijos de Israel.
10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, that they may keep their priesthood; and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.'
Constituirás a Aarón y a sus hijos para que ejerzan su sacerdocio. El extraño que se acerque morirá.
11 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
Yavé habló a Moisés:
12 'And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine;
Mira, tomé a los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel en representación de todo primogénito que abre matriz entre los hijos de Israel. Los levitas serán míos.
13 for all the first-born are Mine: on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto Me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast, Mine they shall be: I am the LORD.'
Los levitas me pertenecen, porque mío es todo primogénito. El día cuando quité la vida a todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto aparté para Mí a todos los primogénitos de Israel, hombres y animales. ¡Son míos! Yo, Yavé.
14 And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying:
Yavé habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí:
15 'Number the children of Levi by their fathers' houses, by their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.'
Cuenta a los hijos de Leví según sus casas paternas y familias. Contarás a todo varón de un mes para arriba.
16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.
Moisés los contó conforme a la Palabra de Yavé, como le fue ordenado.
17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
Los nombres de los hijos de Leví fueron estos: Gersón, Coat y Merari.
18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.
Los nombres de los hijos de Gersón, según sus familias: Libni y Simei.
19 And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
Los hijos de Coat, según sus familias: Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel.
20 And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.
Los hijos de Merari, según sus familias: Mahli y Musi. Estas son las familias de los levitas, según sus casas paternas.
21 Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites; these are the families of the Gershonites.
De Gersón: la familia de Libni y la de Simei. Tales son las familias gersonitas.
22 Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.

23 The families of the Gershonites were to pitch behind the tabernacle westward;
Las familias de Gersón acamparon detrás del Tabernáculo, al occidente.
24 the prince of the fathers' house of the Gershonites being Eliasaph the son of Lael,
El jefe de la casa paterna de los gersonitas era Eliasaf, hijo de Lael.
25 and the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting the tabernacle, and the Tent, the covering thereof, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting,
Los hijos de Gersón estaban a cargo del Tabernáculo de Reunión, la tienda que lo cubría y su cubierta, la cortina de entrada al Tabernáculo de Reunión,
26 and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court — which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar, round about—and the cords of it, even whatsoever pertaineth to the service thereof.

27 And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites:
De Coat era la familia de los amramitas, la de los izharitas, la familia de los hebronitas y la familia de los uzielitas. Tales eran las familias de los coatitas.
28 according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, eight thousand and six hundred, keepers of the charge of the sanctuary.
El número de todos los varones de un mes para arriba que estaban a cargo del Santuario era 8.600.
29 The families of the sons of Kohath were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward;
Las familias de los hijos de Coat acampaban al costado sur del Tabernáculo.
30 the prince of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites being Elizaphan the son of Uzziel,
Su jefe era de la casa paterna de las familias de Coat, Elisafán, hijo de Uziel.
31 and their charge the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith the priests minister, and the screen, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;
El arca, la mesa, el candelabro, los altares, los utensilios con los cuales sirven en el Santuario y el velo con todo su servicio estaba al cuidado de ellos.
32 Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest being prince of the princes of the Levites, and having the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
El principal de los jefes de los levitas era Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, jefe de los guardas del Santuario.
33 Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.
De Merari era la familia de los mahalitas y la familia de los musitas. Tales eran las familias de Merari.
34 And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred;
Sus contados, según el número de todo varón de un mes para arriba, fueron 6.200.
35 the prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari being Zuriel the son of Abihail; they were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward;
El jefe de la casa paterna de las familias de Merari era Zuriel, hijo de Abihail. Acampaban al costado norte del Tabernáculo.
36 the appointed charge of the sons of Merari being the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the instruments thereof, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;
A cargo de los hijos de Merari estaban los tablones del Tabernáculo, sus travesaños, columnas y basas, todos sus utensilios y todo lo relacionado con su servicio,
37 and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
como también las columnas que rodean el patio, sus basas, estacas y cuerdas.
38 And those that were to pitch before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary, even the charge for the children of Israel; and the common man that drew nigh was to be put to death.
Los que iban a acampar delante del Tabernáculo de Reunión, hacia el oriente, eran Moisés y Aarón con sus hijos, quienes tenían a su cargo la guardia del Santuario en nombre de los hijos de Israel. Pero el extraño que se acerque morirá.
39 All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
Moisés y Aarón contaron por orden de Yavé. Todos los contados de los levitas por sus familias, todos los varones de un mes para arriba, fueron 22.000.
40 And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
Yavé dijo a Moisés: Cuenta todo primogénito varón de los hijos de Israel de un mes para arriba y haz una lista de sus nombres.
41 And thou shalt take the Levites for Me, even the LORD, instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.'
Tomarás los levitas para Mí, Yo, Yavé, en representación de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel. También tomarás el ganado de los levitas en representación de todo primerizo de los animales de los hijos de Israel.
42 And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.
Como Yavé le ordenó, Moisés contó todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.
43 And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.
Todos los primogénitos varones de un mes para arriba, según la cuenta de los nombres, fueron 22.273.
44 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
Luego Yavé habló a Moisés:
45 'Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine, even the LORD'S.
Toma a los levitas en representación de todo primogénito de los hijos de Israel y el ganado de los levitas en representación del ganado de aquéllos. Los levitas serán míos. Yo, Yavé.
46 And as for the redemption of the two hundred and three score and thirteen of the first-born of the children of Israel, that are over and above the number of the Levites,
Para el rescate de los 273 que exceden de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel a los levitas,
47 thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them — the shekel is twenty gerahs.
tomarás 55 gramos de plata por cabeza. Lo tomarás conforme al siclo del Santuario, de 20 geras por siclo,
48 And thou shalt give the money wherewith they that remain over of them are redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons.'
y darás a Aarón y a sus hijos el dinero del rescate del número que excede de ellos.
49 And Moses took the redemption-money from them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites;
Moisés tomó el dinero del rescate de los que excedían al número de los redimidos por los levitas.
50 from the first-born of the children of Israel took he the money: a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
Recibió en dinero de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel: 15 kilogramos de plata, conforme al valor del dinero del Santuario.
51 And Moses gave the redemption-money unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Moisés entregó el dinero de los redimidos a Aarón y a sus hijos, conforme a la Palabra de Yavé, como Yavé ordenó a Moisés.
