Nehemiah 12
1 Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;
Questi sono i sacerdoti e i leviti che sono tornati con Zorobabèle figlio di Sealtiel, e con Giosuè: Seraia, Geremia, Esdra,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush;

3 Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth;

4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah;
Iddo, Ghinneton, Abia,
5 Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah;
Miamin, Maadia, Bilga,
6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah;
Semaia, Ioiarìb, Iedaia,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren in the days of Jeshua.
Sallu, Amok, Chelkia, Iedaia. Questi erano i capi dei sacerdoti e dei loro fratelli al tempo di Giosuè.
8 Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.
Leviti: Giosuè, Binnui, Kadmiel, Serebia, Giuda, Mattania, che con i suoi fratelli era preposto al canto degli inni di lode.
9 Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in wards.
Bakbukia e Unni, loro fratelli, stavano di fronte a loro secondo i loro turni di servizio.
10 And Jeshua begot Joiakim, and Joiakim begot Eliashib, and Eliashib begot Joiada,
Giosuè generò Ioiachìm; Ioiachìm generò Eliasìb; Eliasìb generò Ioiadà;
11 and Joiada begot Jonathan and Jonathan begot Jaddua.
Ioiadà generò Giònata; Giònata generò Iaddua.
12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers' houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
Al tempo di Ioiachìm i sacerdoti che erano i capi delle casate sacerdotali erano i seguenti: del casato di Seraia, Meraia; di quello di Geremia, Anania;
13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;
di quello di Esdra, Mesullàm; di quello di Amaria, Giovanni;
14 of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;
di quello di Malluk, Giònata; di quello di Sebania, Giuseppe;
15 of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;
di quello di Carim, Adna; di quello di Meraiòt, Chelkài;
16 of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin; of Moadiah, Piltai;

21 of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

22 The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded heads of fathers' houses; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian.
I leviti furono registrati, quanto ai capi casato, al tempo di Eliasìb, di Ioiadà, di Giovanni e di Iaddua; e i sacerdoti sotto il regno di Dario, il Persiano.
23 The sons of Levi, heads of fathers' houses, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.
I capi dei casati levitici sono registrati nel libro delle Cronache fino al tempo di Giovanni, figlio di Eliasìb.
24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward against ward.
I capi dei leviti Casabià, Serebia, Giosuè, figlio di Kadmiel, insieme con i loro fratelli, che stavano di fronte a loro, dovevano cantare inni e lodi a turni alternati, secondo l'ordine di Davide, uomo di Dio.
25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the store-houses of the gates.
Mattania, Bakbukia, Abdia, Mesullàm, Talmon, Akkub erano portieri e facevano la guardia ai magazzini delle porte.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe.
Questi vivevano al tempo di Ioiachìm figlio di Giosuè, figlio di Iozadàk e al tempo di Neemia il governatore e di Esdra sacerdote e scriba.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
Per la dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme si mandarono a cercare i leviti da tutti i luoghi dove si trovavano, per farli venire a Gerusalemme, perché la dedicazione si celebrasse con gioia, con inni e cantici e suono di cembali, saltèri e cetre.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the Plain round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of the Netophathites;
Gli appartenenti al corpo dei cantori si radunarono dal distretto intorno a Gerusalemme, dai villaggi dei Netofatiti,
29 also from Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.
da Bet-Gàlgala e dal territorio di Gheba e d'Azmàvet; poiché i cantori si erano edificati villaggi nei dintorni di Gerusalemme.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
I sacerdoti e i leviti si purificarono e purificarono il popolo, le porte e le mura.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies that gave thanks and went in procession: on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate;
Allora io feci salire sulle mura i capi di Giuda e formai due grandi cori. Il primo s'incamminò dal lato destro, sulle mura, verso la porta del Letame;
32 and after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah;
dietro questo coro camminavano Osea, metà dei capi di Giuda,
33 and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
Azaria, Esdra, Mesullàm,
34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;
Giuda, Beniamino, Semaia, Geremia,
35 and certain of the priests' sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph;
appartenenti al coro dei sacerdoti con le trombe; Zaccaria figlio di Giònata, figlio di Semaia, figlio di Mattania, figlio di Michea, figlio di Zaccur, figlio di Asaf,
36 and his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them;
e i suoi fratelli Semaia, Azareèl, Milalài, Ghilalài, Maài, Netaneèl, Giuda, Canàni, con gli strumenti musicali di Davide, uomo di Dio; Esdra lo scriba camminava alla loro testa.
37 and by the fountain gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.
Giunti alla porta della Fonte, salirono davanti a loro per la scalinata della città di Davide sulle mura in salita, oltre la casa di Davide, fino alla porta delle Acque, a oriente.
38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, upon the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even unto the broad wall;
Il secondo coro si incamminò a sinistra e io lo seguivo, con l'altra metà del popolo, sopra le mura. Passando oltre la torre dei Forni, esso andò fino al muro Largo,
39 and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the gate of the old city and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even unto the sheep gate; and they stood still in the gate of the guard.
poi oltre la porta di Efraim, la porta Vecchia, la porta dei Pesci, la torre di Cananeèl, la torre di Mea, giunse fino alla porta delle Pecore; il coro si fermò alla porta della Prigione.
40 So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me;
I due cori si fermarono nella casa di Dio; così feci io, con la metà dei magistrati che si trovavano con me,
41 and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
e i sacerdoti Eliakìm, Maaseia, Miniamin, Michea, Elioenai, Zaccaria, Anania con le trombe
42 and Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
e Maaseia, Semaia, Eleàzaro, Uzzi, Giovanni, Malchia, Elam, Ezer. I cantori facevano sentire la voce e Izrachia ne era il direttore.
43 And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced; so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.
In quel giorno il popolo offrì numerosi sacrifici e si allietò, perché Dio gli aveva concesso una grande gioia. Anche le donne e i fanciulli si rallegrarono e la gioia di Gerusalemme si sentiva di lontano.
44 And on that day were men appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that took their stations.
In quel tempo, alcuni uomini furono preposti alle stanze che servivano da magazzini delle offerte, delle primizie, delle decime, perché vi raccogliessero dalle campagne dipendenti dalla città le parti assegnate dalla legge ai sacerdoti e ai leviti; perché i Giudei gioivano vedendo i sacerdoti e i leviti ai loro posti.
45 And they kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
Questi osservavano ciò che si riferiva al servizio del loro Dio e alle purificazioni; come facevano, dal canto loro, i cantori e i portieri, secondo l'ordine di Davide e di Salomone suo figlio.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.
Poiché gia anticamente, al tempo di Davide e di Asaf, vi erano capi cantori e venivano innalzati canti di lode e di ringraziamento a Dio.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required; and they hallowed for the Levites; and the Levites hallowed for the sons of Aaron.
Tutto Israele, al tempo di Zorobabele e di Neemia, dava ogni giorno le porzioni assegnate ai cantori e ai portieri; dava ai leviti le cose consacrate e i leviti davano ai figli di Aronne le cose consacrate che loro spettavano.
