Micah 5

1 Now shalt thou gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; they have laid siege against us; they smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

Ahora te reunirás en tropas, hija de las tropas. Nos ha sitiado. Golpearán al juez de Israel con una vara en la mejilla.

2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days.

Pero tú, Belén Efrata, siendo pequeño entre los clanes de Judá, de vosotros saldrá uno que será el gobernante de Israel; cuyas salidas son de antaño, de tiempos antiguos.

3 Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel.

Por eso los abandonará hasta el momento en que la parturienta dé a luz. Entonces el resto de sus hermanos volverán con los hijos de Israel.

4 And he shall stand, and shall feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide, for then shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

Estará de pie y pastoreará con la fuerza de Yahvé, en la majestad del nombre de Yahvé su Dios. Vivirán, porque entonces será grande hasta los confines de la tierra.

5 And this shall be peace: when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes among men.

Él será nuestra paz cuando Asiria invada nuestra tierra y cuando marche a través de nuestras fortalezas, entonces levantaremos contra él siete pastores, y ocho líderes de hombres.

6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with the keen-edged sword; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our border.

Gobernarán la tierra de Asiria con la espada, y la tierra de Nimrod en sus puertas. Él nos librará del asirio, cuando invada nuestra tierra, y cuando marche dentro de nuestra frontera.

7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, as dew from the LORD, as showers upon the grass, that are not looked for from man, nor awaited at the hands of the sons of men.

El remanente de Jacob estará entre muchos pueblos como el rocío de Yahvé, como duchas en la hierba, que no esperan al hombre ni esperar a los hijos de los hombres.

8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through, treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.

El remanente de Jacob estará entre las naciones, entre muchos pueblos, como un león entre los animales del bosque, como un león joven entre los rebaños de ovejas; que, si pasa, pisa y despedaza, y no hay nadie que lo entregue.

9 Let Thy hand be lifted up above Thine adversaries, and let all Thine enemies be cut off.

Que tu mano se alce sobre tus adversarios, y que todos tus enemigos sean eliminados.

10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and will destroy thy chariots;

“Sucederá en ese día”, dice Yahvé, “que cortaré vuestros caballos de entre vosotros y destruirá tus carros.

11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strongholds;

Cortaré las ciudades de tu tierra y derribará todas sus fortalezas.

12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;

Destruiré la brujería de tu mano. No tendrás adivinos.

13 And I will cut off thy graven images and thy pillars out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thy hands.

Cortaré de entre vosotros vuestras imágenes grabadas y vuestras columnas; y no adorarás más la obra de tus manos.

14 And I will pluck up thy Asherim out of the midst of thee; and I will destroy thine enemies.

Arrancaré de entre ustedes sus postes de Asera; y destruiré sus ciudades.

15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the nations, because they hearkened not.

Ejecutaré la venganza con ira y la ira sobre las naciones que no escucharon”.
