Leviticus 10

1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer, and put fire therein, and laid incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them.

Die Söhne Aarons aber, Nadab und Abihu, nahmen beide ihre Räucherpfannen, taten glühende Kohlen hinein, legten Räucherwerk darauf und brachten so dem HERRN ein ungehöriges Feueropfer dar, das er ihnen nicht geboten hatte.

2 And there came forth fire from before the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Da ging Feuer vom HERRN aus und verzehrte sie, so daß sie vor dem HERRN starben.

3 Then Moses said unto Aaron: 'This is it that the LORD spoke, saying: Through them that are nigh unto Me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.' And Aaron held his peace.

Da sagte Mose zu Aaron: »Hier trifft das ein, was der HERR angekündigt hat mit den Worten: ›An denen, die mir nahestehen, will ich mich als den Heiligen erweisen und vor dem ganzen Volk meine Herrlichkeit offenbaren.‹« Aaron aber sagte kein Wort.

4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them: 'Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.'

Darauf rief Mose den Misael und den Elzaphan, die Söhne Ussiels, des Oheims Aarons, herbei und befahl ihnen: »Tretet herzu und tragt eure Verwandten aus dem Heiligtum hinweg vor das Lager hinaus!«

5 So they drew near, and carried them in their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had said.

Da traten sie herzu und trugen sie in ihren (leinenen) Unterkleidern weg vor das Lager hinaus, wie Mose ihnen befohlen hatte.

6 And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons: 'Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither tend your clothes, that ye die not, and that He be not wroth with all the congregation; but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

Darauf sagte Mose zu Aaron und dessen Söhnen Eleasar und Ithamar: »Ihr dürft euer Haupthaar nicht auflösen und eure Kleider nicht zerreißen; sonst müßtet ihr sterben, und der HERR würde der ganzen Gemeinde zürnen. Doch eure Volksgenossen, das ganze Haus Israel, mögen über den Brand weinen, den der HERR angerichtet hat.

7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest ye die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you.' And they did according to the word of Moses.

Auch dürft ihr euch nicht vom Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes entfernen, damit ihr nicht sterbt; denn das Salböl des HERRN ist auf euch (gekommen).« So taten sie denn nach der Weisung Moses.

8 And the LORD spoke unto Aaron, saying:

Hierauf gebot der HERR dem Aaron folgendes:

9 'Drink no wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tent of meeting, that ye die not; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.

»Wein und berauschendes Getränk dürft ihr, du und deine Söhne mit dir, nicht trinken, wenn ihr in das Offenbarungszelt eintretet, damit ihr nicht sterbt – das ist eine ewiggültige Verordnung für alle eure Geschlechter –:

10 And that ye may put difference between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

(ihr sollt lernen, ) einen Unterschied zwischen dem Heiligen und Unheiligen, zwischen dem Reinen und Unreinen zu machen,

11 and that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.'

und sollt die Israeliten in allen Satzungen unterweisen, die der HERR euch durch den Mund Moses verkündigt hat.«

12 And Moses spoke unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left: 'Take the meal-offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy.

Hierauf gebot Mose dem Aaron und dessen Söhnen Eleasar und Ithamar, die ihm noch übriggeblieben waren: »Nehmt das Speisopfer, das von den Feueropfern des HERRN noch übrig ist, und eßt es ungesäuert neben dem Altar; denn es ist hochheilig.

13 And ye shall eat it in a holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons' due, of the offerings of the LORD made by fire; for so I am commanded.

Und zwar müßt ihr es an heiliger Stätte verzehren, denn es ist der für dich und deine Söhne bestimmte Anteil von den Feueropfern des HERRN – so ist mir geboten worden.

14 And the breast of waving and the thigh of heaving shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee; for they are given as thy due, and thy sons' due, out of the sacrifices of the peace-offerings of the children of Israel.

Die Webebrust aber und die Hebekeule sollt ihr, du und deine Söhne und deine Töchter mit dir, an einer reinen Stätte essen; denn als der für dich und deine Söhne bestimmte Anteil von den Heilsopfern der Israeliten sind sie euch überwiesen worden.

15 The thigh of heaving and the breast of waving shall they bring with the offerings of the fat made by fire, to wave it for a wave-offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, as a due for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.'

Die Hebekeule und die Webebrust soll man mitsamt den zu Feueropfern bestimmten Fettstücken herbringen, um sie als Webeopfer vor dem HERRN zu weben; dann sollen sie dir und deinen Söhnen mit dir als eine für ewige Zeiten festgesetzte Gebühr zufallen, wie der HERR geboten hat.«

16 And Moses diligently inquired for the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt; and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying:

Als Mose dann aber eifrig nach dem Sündopferbock suchte, stellte es sich heraus, daß er verbrannt worden war! Da geriet er über Eleasar und Ithamar, die übriggebliebenen Söhne Aarons, in heftigen Zorn und fragte:

17 'Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin-offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is most holy, and He hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?

»Warum habt ihr das Sündopferfleisch nicht an heiliger Stätte gegessen? Es ist ja doch hochheilig, und der HERR hat es euch gegeben, damit ihr die Schuld der Gemeinde wegschafft, indem ihr ihnen Sühne vor dem HERRN erwirkt.

18 Behold, the blood of it was not brought into the sanctuary within; ye should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.'

Bedenkt doch! Das Blut davon ist nicht ins Innere des Heiligtums gebracht worden; darum hättet ihr es unbedingt im heiligen Bezirk essen müssen, wie ich geboten habe!«

19 And Aaron spoke unto Moses: 'Behold, this day have they offered their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before the LORD, and there have befallen me such things as these; and if I had eaten the sin-offering to-day, would it have been well-pleasing in the sight of the LORD?

Da antwortete Aaron dem Mose: »Bedenke doch: heute haben (meine Söhne) ihr Sündopfer und ihr Brandopfer vor dem HERRN dargebracht, und mich hat trotzdem solches Geschick betroffen! Wenn ich nun heute Sündopferfleisch genossen hätte, würde das dem HERRN wohlgefällig gewesen sein?«

20 And when Moses heard that, it was well-pleasing in his sight.

Als Mose das hörte, erkannte er es als begründet an.
