Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us; behold, and see our reproach.
১হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি যা ঘটেছে, তা মনে কর, তাকাও, আমাদের অপমান দেখ।
2 Our inheritance is turned unto strangers, our houses unto aliens.
২আমাদের সম্পত্তি অপরিচিত লোকদের হাতে, আমাদের সব বাড়িগুলি বিদেশীদের হাতে গিয়েছে।
3 We are become orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
৩আমরা অনাথ কারণ আমাদের কোনো বাবা নেই এবং আমাদের মায়েরা বিধবাদের মতো হয়েছেন।
4 We have drunk our water for money; our wood cometh to us for price.
৪আমাদের জল আমরা রূপা খরচ করে পান করেছি, নিজেদের কাঠ দাম দিয়ে কিনতে হয়।
5 To our very necks we are pursued; we labour, and have no rest.
৫লোকে আমাদেরকে তাড়না করে, আমরা ক্লান্ত এবং আমাদের জন্য বিশ্রাম নেই।
6 We have given the hand to Egypt, and to Assyria, to have bread enough;
৬আমরা মিশরীয়দের ও অশূরীয়দের কাছে হাতজোড় করেছি, খাবারে সন্তুষ্ট হবার জন্য।
7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
৭আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা পাপ করেছেন, এখন তারা নেই এবং আমরাই তাঁদের পাপ বহন করেছি।
8 Servants rule over us; there is none to deliver us out of their hand.
৮আমাদের ওপরে দাসেরা শাসন করে এবং তাদের হাত থেকে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার করে, এমন কেউ নেই।
9 We get our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
৯জীবনের ঝুঁকিতে আমরা খাবার সংগ্রহ করি, মরুপ্রান্তে অবস্থিত তরোয়াল থাকা সত্বেও।
10 Our skin is hot like an oven because of the burning heat of famine.
১০আমাদের চামড়া উনুনের মতো গরম, দূর্ভিক্ষের জ্বরে জ্বলছে।
11 They have ravished the women in Zion, the maidens in the cities of Judah.
১১সিয়োনে স্ত্রীলোকেরা ধর্ষিত হল, যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে কুমারীরা ধর্ষিত হল।
12 Princes are hanged up by their hand; the faces of elders are not honoured.
১২তারা নেতাদেরকে নিজেদের হাতের মাধ্যমে ফাঁসি দিয়েছে এবং তারা প্রাচীনদের সম্মান করে নি।
13 The young men have borne the mill, and the children have stumbled under the wood.
১৩যুবকদেরকে যাঁতায় পরিশ্রম করতে হল, শিশুরা কাঠের গুড়ির ভারে টলমল করছে।
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
১৪প্রাচীনেরা শহরের দরজা থেকে সরে গিয়েছেন এবং যুবকেরা তাদের বাজনাকে থামিয়েছে।
15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
১৫আমাদের হৃদয়ের আনন্দ চলে গিয়েছে, আমাদের নাচ শোকে পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে।
16 The crown is fallen from our head; woe unto us! for we have sinned.
১৬আমাদের মাথা থেকে মুকুট পড়ে গেছে, ধিক আমাদেরকে! কারণ আমরা পাপ করেছি।
17 For this our heart is faint, for these things our eyes are dim;
১৭এই জন্য আমাদের হৃদয় দুর্বল হয়েছে এবং আমাদের চোখ অস্পষ্ট হয়েছে।
18 For the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
১৮কারণ সিয়োন পর্বত মানবহীন জায়গা হয়েছে, শিয়ালেরা তার ওপর ঘুরে বেড়ায়।
19 Thou, O LORD, art enthroned for ever, Thy throne is from generation to generation.
১৯কিন্তু হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি চিরকাল রাজত্ব কর এবং তোমার সিংহাসন বংশের পর বংশ স্থায়ী।
20 Wherefore dost Thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
২০কেন তুমি চিরকাল আমাদেরকে ভুলে যাবে? কেন এত দিন আমাদেরকে ত্যাগ করে থাকবে?
21 Turn Thou us unto Thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
২১হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার প্রতি আমাদেরকে ফেরাও এবং আমরা অনুতাপ করব; পুরানো দিনের মতো নতুন দিন আমাদেরকে দাও।
22 Thou canst not have utterly rejected us, and be exceeding wroth against us!
২২তুমি আমাদেরকে একেবারে ত্যাগ করেছে এবং আমাদের প্রতি প্রচণ্ড রেগে গিয়েছিলে।
