Judges 10
1 And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the hill-country of Ephraim.
Después de Abimelec, se levantó Tolá, hijo de Fuá, hijo de Dodó, varón de Isacar, para salvar a Israel. Habitó en Samir, en la montaña de Efraím,
2 And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
y juzgó a Israel durante veinte y tres años. Murió y fue sepultado en Samir.
3 And after him arose Jair, the Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty and two years.
Después de él surgió Jaír galaadita, que juzgó a Israel veinte y dos años.
4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
Tenía treinta hijos, que montaban treinta pollinos y poseían treinta ciudades, que se llaman Havot Jaír hasta el día de hoy. Están situadas en el país de Galaad.
5 And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.
Murió Jaír y fue sepultado en Camón.
6 And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD, and served Him not.
Los hijos de Israel siguieron haciendo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé; y sirvieron a los Baales y a las Astartés, a los dioses de los sirios, a los dioses de los sidonios, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los hijos de Ammón y a los dioses de los filisteos; y abandonando a Yahvé no le sirvieron más.
7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He gave them over into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.
Se encendió entonces la ira de Yahvé contra Israel, y los vendió en manos de los filisteos y en manos de los hijos de Ammón;
8 And they oppressed and crushed the children of Israel that year; eighteen years oppressed they all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
los cuales desde aquel año, por espacio de dieciocho años, oprimieron y vejaron a los hijos de Israel que habitaban al otro lado del Jordán, en la tierra de los amorreos, en Galaad.
9 And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was sore distressed.
Los hijos de Ammón pasaron también el Jordán para hacer la guerra a Judá, a Benjamín, y a la casa de Efraím, de modo que Israel se vio muy apretado.
10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying: 'We have sinned against Thee, in that we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.'
Clamaron entonces los hijos de Israel a Yahvé, diciendo: “Hemos pecado contra Ti, porque hemos abandonado a nuestro Dios, y hemos servido a los Baales.”
11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel: 'Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
Y dijo Yahvé a los hijos de Israel: “¿No soy Yo quien (os libré) de los egipcios, de los amorreos, de los hijos de Ammón y de los filisteos?
12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto Me, and I saved you out of their hand.
Y cuando los sidonios, los amalecitas y los maonitas os oprimían, y clamasteis a Mí, ¿no os salvé Yo de sus manos?
13 Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods; wherefore I will save you no more.
Pero vosotros me habéis abandonado, sirviendo a otros dioses; por eso no volveré a libraros.
14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.'
Andad y clamad a los dioses que os habéis elegido. ¡Que ellos os salven en el tiempo de vuestra angustia!”
15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD: 'We have sinned; do Thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto Thee; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.'
Los hijos de Israel respondieron a Yahvé: “Hemos pecado. Haz con nosotros lo que mejor te parezca, pero líbranos, te rogamos, en este día.”
16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD; and His soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
Y arrojando de en medio de ellos los dioses extraños sirvieron a Yahvé; pues su alma desfallecía a causa de la desdicha de Israel.
17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.
Se reunieron entretanto los hijos de Ammón y acamparon en Galaad. Se juntaron también los hijos de Israel y acamparon en Masfá.
18 And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another: 'What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.'
Entonces el pueblo, los príncipes de Galaad decían unos a otros: “¿Quién es el hombre que comenzará a combatir a los hijos de Ammón? Él será el caudillo de todos los habitantes de Galaad.”
