Joshua 21

1 Then came near the heads of fathers' houses of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel;

Und es traten herzu die Häupter der Väter der Leviten zu Eleasar, dem Priester, und zu Joschua, dem Sohne Nuns, und zu den Häuptern der Stammväter der Söhne Israels;

2 and they spoke unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying: 'The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the open land thereabout for our cattle.'

Und redeten zu ihnen in Schiloh im Lande Kanaan und sprachen: Jehovah hat durch Moses Hand geboten, daß man uns Städte zum Wohnen und ihre Weichbilder für unser Vieh geben soll.

3 And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of the LORD, these cities with the open land about them.

Und die Söhne Israels gaben den Leviten von ihrem Erbe, nach dem Ausspruch Jehovahs, diese Städte und ihre Weichbilder.

4 And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites; and the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

Und es kam heraus das Los für die Familien der Kohathiter, und es wurden den Söhnen Aharons, des Priesters, aus den Leviten, vom Stamme Judah und vom Stamme der Schimeoniter und vom Stamme Benjamin durch das Los dreizehn Städte;

5 And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

Und den übrigen Söhnen Kohaths von den Familien des Stammes Ephraim und vom Stamme Dan und vom halben Stamm Menascheh durch das Los zehn Städte;

6 And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

Und den Söhnen Gerschons von den Familien des Stammes Issaschar und von dem Stamme Ascher und von dem Stamme Naphthali und dem halben Stamm Menascheh und Baschan durch das Los dreizehn Städte;

7 The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

Den Söhnen Meraris nach ihren Familien vom Stamme Ruben und vom Stamme Gad und vom Stamme Sebulun zwölf Städte.

8 And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with the open land about them, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

So gaben durch das Los die Söhne Israels den Leviten diese Städte und ihre Weichbilder, wie Jehovah durch die Hand Moses geboten hatte.

9 And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name.

Und aus dem Stamme der Söhne Judahs und aus dem Stamme der Söhne Schimeons gaben sie diese Städte, die mit Namen genannt sind.

10 And they were for the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot.

Und sie wurden den Söhnen Aharons von den Familien der Kohathiter, von den Söhnen Levis, denn ihnen ward das Los zuerst.

11 And they gave them Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak — the same is Hebron — in the hill-country of Judah, with the open land round about it.

Und sie gaben ihnen Kirjath Arbahs, des Vaters von Anok, das ist Chebron, auf dem Gebirge Judah und sein Weichbild rings um sie her.

12 But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

Aber das Feld der Stadt und ihre Dörfer gaben sie Kaleb, dem Sohn Jephunnehs als Eigentum.

13 And unto the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Libnah with the open land about it;

Und den Söhnen Aharons, des Priesters, gaben sie die Zufluchtsstadt für den Totschläger, Chebron und ihr Weichbild,

14 and Jattir with the open land about it, and Eshtemoa with the open land about it;

Und Jathir und ihr Weichbild und Eschthemoa und ihr Weichbild.

15 and Holon with the open land about it, and Debir with the open land about it;

Und Cholon und ihr Weichbild und Debir und ihr Weichbild.

16 and Ain with the open land about it, and Juttah with the open land about it, and Beth-shemesh with the open land about it; nine cities out of those two tribes.

Und Ajin und ihr Weichbild, und Juttah und ihr Weichbild, und Beth Schemesch und ihr Weichbild, und neun Städte von diesen zwei Stämmen.

17 And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with the open land about it, Geba with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Benjamin Gibeon und ihr Weichbild, und Gebah und ihr Weichbild,

18 Anathoth with the open land about it, and Almon with the open land about it; four cities.

Und Anathoth und ihr Weichbild und Almon und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

19 All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with the open land about them.

Alle Städte der Söhne Aharons, des Priesters, waren dreizehn Städte und ihre Weichbilder.

20 And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

Und den übrigen Familien der Söhne Kohaths, der Leviten von den Söhnen Kohaths, wurden Städte ihres Loses vom Stamme Ephraim.

21 And they gave them Shechem with the open land about it in the hill-country of Ephraim, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gezer with the open land about it;

Und sie gaben ihnen die Zufluchtsstadt für den Totschläger: Sichem und dessen Weichbild auf dem Gebirge Ephraim und Geser und ihr Weichbild,

22 and Kibzaim with the open land about it, and Beth-horon with the open land about it; four cities.

Und Kibzajim und ihr Weichbild und Beth-Choron und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte;

23 And out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with the open land about it, Gibbethon with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Dan: Eltheke und ihr Weichbild und Gibbethon und ihr Weichbild,

24 Aijalon with the open land about it, Gath-rimmon with the open land about it; four cities.

Ajjalon und ihr Weichbild, Gath-Rimmon und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

25 And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with the open land about it, and Gath-rimmon with the open land about it; two cities.

Und von der Hälfte des Stammes Menascheh Thaanach und ihr Weichbild, zwei Städte.

26 All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kohath were ten with the open land about them.

Aller Städte waren es zehn mit ihren Weichbildern für die Familien der Söhne Kohaths, die noch übrig waren.

27 And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer; and Beeshterah with the open land about it; two cities.

Und den Söhnen Gerschons von den Familien der Leviten gab man vom halben Stamm Menascheh die Zufluchtsstadt des Totschlägers: Golan in Baschan und ihr Weichbild, und Beeschtherah und ihr Weichbild, zwei Städte.

28 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with the open land about it, Dobrath with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Issaschar Kischjon und ihr Weichbild, Dobrath und ihr Weichbild,

29 Jarmuth with the open land about it, En-gannim with the open land about it; four cities.

Jarmuth und ihr Weichbild, En-Gannim und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

30 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with the open land about it, Abdon with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Ascher Mischal und ihr Weichbild, Abdon und ihr Weichbild,

31 Helkath with the open land about it, and Rehob with the open land about it; four cities.

Chelkath und ihr Weichbild, und Rechob und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

32 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Hammoth-dor with the open land about it, and Kartan with the open land about it; three cities.

Und vom Stamme Naphthali die Zufluchtsstadt für den Totschläger: Kedesch im Galil und ihr Weichbild, und ChammothDor und ihr Weichbild, und Karthan und ihr Weichbild, drei Städte.

33 All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with the open land about them.

Alle Städte der Gerschumiter nach ihren Familien waren dreizehn Städte und ihre Weichbilder.

34 And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with the open land about it, and Kartah with the open land about it;

Und den Familien der Söhne Meraris, den Leviten, die noch übrig waren vom Stamme Sebulun: Jokneam und ihr Weichbild, Karthah und ihr Weichbild.

35 Dimnah with the open land about it, Nahalal with the open land about it; four cities.

Dimnah und ihr Weichbild, und Nahalal und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

36 And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with the open land about it, and Jahaz with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Ruben: Bezer und ihr Weichbild, und Jahzah und ihr Weichbild,

37 Kedemoth with the open land about it, and Mephaath with the open land about it; four cities.

Kedemoth und ihr Weichbild, und Mephaath und ihr Weichbild, vier Städte.

38 And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with the open land about it;

Und vom Stamme Gad die Zufluchtsstadt für den Totschläger: Ramoth in Gilead und ihr Weichbild und Machanajim und ihr Weichbild,

39 Heshbon with the open land about it, Jazer with the open land about it; four cities in all.

Cheschbon und ihr Weichbild, und Jaser und ihr Weichbild; aller Städte waren es vier.

40 All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

Alle Städte der Söhne Meraris nach ihren Familien, die übrig waren von den Familien der Leviten, und ihr Los waren zwölf Städte.

41 All the cities of the Levites — forty and eight cities with the open land about them — shall be in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel,

Alle Städte der Leviten in der Mitte des Eigentums der Söhne Israels waren achtundvierzig Städte und ihre Weichbilder.

42 even these cities, every one with the open land round about it; thus it shall be with all these cities.

Dies waren die Städte, jede Stadt und ihr Weichbild rings um sie her. So war es bei allen diesen Städten.

43 So the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which He swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

Und Jehovah gab Israel das ganze Land, das Er seinen Vätern zu geben geschworen hatte, und sie nahmen es ein und wohnten darin.

44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that He swore unto their fathers; and there stood not a man of all their enemies against them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

Und Jehovah ließ sie ruhen von denen ringsum, nach allem, das Er ihren Vätern geschworen hatte. Und kein Mann stand vor ihnen von allen ihren Feinden. Alle ihre Feinde gab Jehovah in ihre Hand;

45 There failed not aught of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Und es fiel kein Wort von all dem guten Worte, das Jehovah zu dem Hause Israel geredet hatte, alles kam zu.
