Job 34
1 Moreover Elihu answered and said:
Отвещав же Елиус, рече:
2 Hear my words, ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
послушайте мене, премудрии: сведущии, внушите (доброе),
3 For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
яко ухо словеса искушает, гортань же вкушает брашна.
4 Let us choose for us that which is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.
Суд изберем себе, уразумеем посреде себе, что лучшее.
5 For Job hath said: 'I am righteous, and God hath taken away my right;
Яко рече Иов: праведен есмь, Господь отят ми суд,
6 Notwithstanding my right I am accounted a liar; my wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'
солга же суду моему: насильна стрела моя без неправды.
7 What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
Кто муж, якоже Иов, пияй поругание, якоже воду,
8 Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
не согрешая, ниже нечествовав, ниже приобщився к творящым беззакония, еже ходити с нечестивыми?
9 For he hath said: 'It profiteth a man nothing that he should be in accord with God.'
Не рцы бо, яко несть посещения мужеви, и посещения ему от Господа.
10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that He should commit iniquity.
Темже, разумивии сердцем, послушайте мене, не буди ми пред Господем нечествовати и пред Вседержителем возмутити правду:
11 For the work of a man will He requite unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
но воздает человекови, якоже творит кийждо их, и на стези мужестей обрящет и.
12 Yea, of a surety, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
Мниши же Господа нелепая сотворити, или Вседержитель смятет суд, иже сотвори землю?
13 Who gave Him a charge over the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world?
Кто же есть творяй поднебесную и яже в ней всяческая?
14 If He set His heart upon man, if He gather unto Himself his spirit and his breath;
Аще бо восхощет запретити и дух у Себе удержати,
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return unto dust.
умрет всяка плоть вкупе, всяк же человек в землю пойдет, отнюдуже и создан бысть.
16 If now thou hast understanding, hear this; hearken to the voice of my words.
Аще же не увещаешися, послушай сих, внуши глас глагол.
17 Shall even one that hateth right govern? And wilt thou condemn Him that is just and mighty —
Виждь ты ненавидящаго беззаконная и губящаго лукавыя, суща, вечна, праведна.
18 Is it fit to say to a king: 'Thou art base'? Or to nobles: 'Ye are wicked'? —
Нечестив есть глаголяй цареви, закон преступаеши, нечестивейше, князем:
19 That respecteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of His hands.
иже не постыдеся лица честнаго, ниже весть честь возложити сильным, удивитися лицам их.
20 In a moment they die, even at midnight; the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away without hand.
Тще же им сбудется, еже возопити и молити мужа: зане употребиша беззаконно, безчестяще немощных.
21 For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He seeth all his goings.
Той бо зритель есть дел человеческих, утаися же от Него ничтоже от тех, яже творят:
22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
ниже будет место укрытися творящым беззаконная:
23 For He doth not appoint a time unto any man, when he should go before God in judgment.
яко не на мужа положит еще.
24 He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquisition, and setteth others in their stead.
Господь бо всех видит, постизаяй неизследная, славная же и изрядная, имже несть числа,
25 Therefore He taketh knowledge of their works; and He overturneth them in the night, so that they are crushed.
сведый их дела, и обратит нощь, и смирятся.
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
Угаси же нечестивыя, видими же пред ним:
27 Because they turned aside from following Him, and would not have regard to any of His ways;
яко уклонишася от закона Божия, оправданий же Его не познаша,
28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto Him, and He heareth the cry of the afflicted.
еже вознести к Нему вопль нищих, и вопль убогих услышит.
29 When He giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when He hideth His face, who then can behold Him? whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man, alike;
И Той тишину подаст, и кто осудит? И сокрыет лице, и кто узрит Его? И на язык, и на человека вкупе,
30 That the godless man reign not, that there be none to ensnare the people.
иже поставляет царем человека лицемера за строптивость людий.
31 For hath any said unto God: 'I have borne chastisement, though I offend not;
Яко к Крепкому глаголяй: взях, не отиму вместо залога:
32 That which I see not teach Thou me; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?
без мене узрю, Ты покажи ми: аще неправду соделах, не имам приложити.
33 Shall His recompense be as thou wilt? For thou loathest it, so that thou must choose, and not I; therefore speak what thou knowest.
Еда от тебе истяжет ю, яко ты отринеши, яко ты избереши, а не аз ли? И что разумееши? Глаголи.
34 Men of understanding will say unto me, yea, every wise man that heareth me:
Темже смысленнии сердцем рекут сия, муж же премудр услыша глагол мой.
35 'Job speaketh without knowledge, and his words are without discernment.'
Иов же не в разуме глаголаше, словеса же его не в хитрости.
36 Would that Job were tried unto the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
Обаче навыкни, Иове, не даждь еще ответа, якоже немудрии:
37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
да не приложим на грехи нашя: беззаконие же на нас вменится, многая глаголющих словеса на Господа.
