< Job 34 >

1 Moreover Elihu answered and said:
Natovo’ i Eliho, ty hoe:
2 Hear my words, ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
Janjiño o entakoo ry androanavy mahihitseo, anokilaño ravembia, ry mahafohiñeo.
3 For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
fa mitso-tsara ty ravembia manahake ty fitsohan-dañilañy mahakama.
4 Let us choose for us that which is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.
Antao tika hijoboñe ty soa, hisafirian-tika ty atao fanjàka.
5 For Job hath said: 'I am righteous, and God hath taken away my right;
amy nanoe’ Iobey, ty hoe: Vañon-draho, fe nasintan’ Añahare amako ty zoko;
6 Notwithstanding my right I am accounted a liar; my wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'
handañirako hao i zokoy; tsy mete melañe i trinofan-defoñey, ndra t’ie malio-tahiñe.
7 What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
Ondaty ia ty rahamba’ Iobe? ie migenoke inje hoe rano,
8 Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
ie mpifañosoñe amo mpitolon-karatiañeo le mitrao-pañavelo am’ondaty mengokeo?
9 For he hath said: 'It profiteth a man nothing that he should be in accord with God.'
ie nanao ty hoe, Tsy vente’e ama’ondatio te ifalea’e t’i Andrianañahare.
10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that He should commit iniquity.
Aa le janjiño iraho, ry aman-kilálao, Lavits’ an’ Andrianañahare ty haratiañe, naho amy El-Sadai ty fandilarañe.
11 For the work of a man will He requite unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
Fa o sata’eo ty hanambeza’e ondaty, o fitoloña’eo ro hanoly aze ami’ty eva’e.
12 Yea, of a surety, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
Toe tsy manao raty t’i Andrianañahare, vaho tsy mañolake ty hatò t’i El-Sadai.
13 Who gave Him a charge over the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world?
Ia ty nampamandroñ’ aze ty tane toy, vaho ia ty nampivave aze ty voatse bey toy?
14 If He set His heart upon man, if He gather unto Himself his spirit and his breath;
Aa naho nampoli’e ama’e ty fo’ ondaty naho natonto’e ama’e i tro’ey vaho i kofo’ey,
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return unto dust.
le fonga ho nitrao-pihomahañe ze atao nofotse; vaho kila ho nibalike ho lemboke ondatio.
16 If now thou hast understanding, hear this; hearken to the voice of my words.
Fe naho mahilala, janjiño, tsendreño ty feo’ o entakoo.
17 Shall even one that hateth right govern? And wilt thou condemn Him that is just and mighty —
Hifehe hao ty malaiñe to? Hafà’o hao i Fanalolahy Vañoñey?
18 Is it fit to say to a king: 'Thou art base'? Or to nobles: 'Ye are wicked'? —
I manao ty hoe ami’ty mpanjaka: Ry Votro, naho amo ana-donakeo, Ty Piaroteñe!
19 That respecteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of His hands.
Ie tsy miasy roandriañe, tsy mañaom-pañaleale mandikoatse ty rarake, ie fonga satam-pità’e.
20 In a moment they die, even at midnight; the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away without hand.
Mihomak’aniany iereo, te petsak’ale; troboeñe ondatio le mihelañe añe, asintake tsy am-pitàñe o maozatseo.
21 For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He seeth all his goings.
Fa amo sata’ ondatio o fihaino’eo, vazoho’e iaby o lia’eo.
22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Tsy eo ty ieñe ndra ty fimoromoroñañe hietaha’ o tsereheñeo.
23 For He doth not appoint a time unto any man, when he should go before God in judgment.
Le tsy ifotoañan’ andro ty hiatrefa’ ondaty aman’Añahare ho zakaeñe.
24 He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquisition, and setteth others in their stead.
Demohe’e tsy an-dohy o fatratseo, le avotra’e an-toe’e eo ty handimbe aze.
25 Therefore He taketh knowledge of their works; and He overturneth them in the night, so that they are crushed.
Aa kanao arofoana’e o sata’eo, le avalitaboa’e te haleñe, vaho dorodoroe’e.
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
Lafà’e manahake o tsereheñeo an-tameañe eo ho fisambàñe,
27 Because they turned aside from following Him, and would not have regard to any of His ways;
amy t’ie nitsile tsy nañorik’ aze, le tsy teo t’ie nañaoñe o lala’eo,
28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto Him, and He heareth the cry of the afflicted.
toly ndra nampombae’ iareo mb’ama’e ty fitoreova’ o rarakeo fa janji’e ty toreo’ o silofeñeo—
29 When He giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when He hideth His face, who then can behold Him? whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man, alike;
naho mianjin-dre, ia ty hanìñe? Ie aeta’e ty lahara’e, ia ty hahaisak’ aze, ndra t’ie foko ndra te ondaty—
30 That the godless man reign not, that there be none to ensnare the people.
soa tsy hifehe ty tsi-aman-Kàke, vaho tsy ho fandrik’ am’ ondatio.
31 For hath any said unto God: 'I have borne chastisement, though I offend not;
Ia ty nanao ty hoe aman’Añahare? Fa nililoveñe, izaho tsy nandilatse;
32 That which I see not teach Thou me; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?
Anaro ahy o tsy treakoo; naho niota faly, tsy hanoeko ka?
33 Shall His recompense be as thou wilt? For thou loathest it, so that thou must choose, and not I; therefore speak what thou knowest.
I satri’oy hao ty hamalea’e Azo, kanao liere’o? Ihe ‘nio ty hijoboñe, fa tsy izaho; aa le saontsio o fohi’oo.
34 Men of understanding will say unto me, yea, every wise man that heareth me:
Hanao ty hoe amako ondaty mahilalao, Toe mahafijanjiñe ty androanavy mahihitse:
35 'Job speaketh without knowledge, and his words are without discernment.'
Misaontsy tsy aman-kilala t’Iobe, vaho tsy hinotsohotso’e o enta’eo.
36 Would that Job were tried unto the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
Ee te ho hereherèñe pak’am-para’e t’Iobe ie nanoiñe hoe ondaty lo-tsereke.
37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
Tompea’e fiolàñe o hakeo’eo; miteha-pitàn-dre añivon-tikañe eo, le manovon-tsaontsy hatreatre’e t’i Andrianañahare.
