< Job 29 >
1 And Job again took up his parable, and said:
Ayub nomedo wuoyo kawacho niya,
2 Oh that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me;
“Yaye, mad ngʼato dwoka e ndalona machon kendo kinde mane Nyasaye orita maber,
3 When His lamp shined above my head, and by His light I walked through darkness;
ka en koda kuonde duto kendo ka lerne ne menyona kuonde motimo mudho mane awuothe!
4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the converse of God was upon my tent;
Ee, mano kaka agombo ndalogo mane pod ategno, kinde mane Nyasaye gwedho oda nikech ne en osiepna,
5 When the Almighty was yet with me, and my children were about me;
ma en ndalono ma Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ne pod ni koda kendo nyithinda noketa diere,
6 When my steps were washed with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil!
ne en ndalo ma yorega ne dhi maber kendo yiende mag zeituni ne nyak maber.
7 When I went forth to the gate unto the city, when I prepared my seat in the broad place,
“Kindeno kane adonjo gie ranga dala mi abet e koma ei paw bura,
8 The young men saw me and hid themselves, and the aged rose up and stood;
to yawuowi ne weyona yo ka onena to jodongo to ne oana malo.
9 The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth;
Jotend ogendini ne weyo wuoyo, kendo negilingʼ thi ka giumo dhogi.
10 The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
Ruodhi kane onena to ne wuoyo gi dwol mapiny kendo onge ngʼama ne nyalo winjo gima negiwacho.
11 For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me, and when the eye saw me, it gave witness unto me;
Ngʼato angʼata mane owinja ne loso maber kuoma, kendo joma nonena ne pwoya,
12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, the fatherless also, that had none to help him.
nikech ne akonyo joma odhier mane ywak ka dwaro kony, kod joma onge wuonegi mane onge gi joma dikonygi.
13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me; and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
Ngʼama ne chiegni tho nogwedha; kendo namiyo chuny dhako ma chwore otho duogo mi ower gi mor.
14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed itself with me; my justice was as a robe and a diadem.
Arwako tim makare kod adiera ka lepa.
15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.
Ne abedo wangʼ muofni kendo tiende pudhe.
16 I was a father to the needy; and the cause of him that I knew not I searched out.
Ne abedo wuon jochan; kendo ne akawo chandruok joma welo.
17 And I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, and plucked the prey out of his teeth.
Ne aketho teko mar joma thiro ji mi agologi e lwet joma dwaro hinyogi.
18 Then I said: 'I shall die with my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the phoenix;
“Ne aparo e chunya ni, ‘Tho biro kawa mos ka adak maber e dalana, kendo ka hika mae pinyni oniangʼ,
19 My root shall be spread out to the waters, and the dew shall lie all night upon my branch;
Achalo gi yath, madongo e bath aora madongo ka ngʼich nikech tiendene ochwo pi kendo thoo biro bedo e bedena gotieno.
20 My glory shall be fresh in me, and my bow shall be renewed in my hand.'
Huma mara biro siko kalandore kendo tekra nosiki!’
21 Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence for my counsel.
“Ji ne chikona itgi ka geno konyruok mathoth, negirito rieko mawuok e dhoga ka gilingʼ mos.
22 After my words they spoke not again; and my speech dropped upon them.
Onge ngʼama ne loso bangʼa; wechena ne lwar e itgi mos ka ngʼidho.
23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
Ne girita ka joma rito koth ndalo oro, kendo negimor gi wechena mana ka joma rito kodh chwiri.
24 If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.
Kane abwonjo kodgi to ne amako dhogi; kendo ler mane rieny koa e lela wangʼa, ne morogi ahinya.
25 I chose out their way, and sat as chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.
An ema ne anyisogi yo monego gilu kendo nabedo kaka ruodhgi; ne achalo ruoth e dier jokedo mage; bende ne achalo ngʼat mahoyo joma ywak.”
