Job 28
1 For there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
೧“ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಗಣಿಯೂ, ಚಿನ್ನದ ಅದುರು ದೊರಕುವ ಸ್ಥಳವೂ ಉಂಟಷ್ಟೆ.
2 Iron is taken out of the dust, and brass is molten out of the stone.
೨ಮಣ್ಣಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯುವರು, ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಕರಗಿಸಿ ತಾಮ್ರವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವರು.
3 Man setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out to the furthest bound the stones of thick darkness and of the shadow of death.
೩ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕತ್ತಲನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಘೋರಾಂಧಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಹುಡುಕುವರು.
4 He breaketh open a shaft away from where men sojourn; they are forgotten of the foot that passeth by; they hang afar from men, they swing to and fro.
೪ಗಣಿಯನ್ನು ತೋಡಿ ತೋಡಿ ಭೂಮಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಬಹುದೂರ ಜನರು ವಾಸಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗುವರು, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದೆ, ನರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಅನ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತಿತ್ತ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವರು.
5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread, and underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.
೫ಭೂಮಿಯು ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವುದು, ಅದರ ಕೆಳಭಾಗವು ಬೆಂಕಿ ಬಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಹಾಳಾಗಿರುವುದು.
6 The stones thereof are the place of sapphires, and it hath dust of gold.
೬ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದ್ರನೀಲ ಮಣಿಗಳು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವವು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪುಡಿಯೂ ಇರುವುದು.
7 That path no bird of prey knoweth, neither hath the falcon's eye seen it;
೭ಆ ದಾರಿಯು ಯಾವ ಹದ್ದಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದು, ಗಿಡಗದ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೂ ಬಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ.
8 The proud beasts have not trodden it, nor hath the lion passed thereby.
೮ಸೊಕ್ಕಿದ ಮೃಗಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ತುಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸಿಂಹವು ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತುಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ.
9 He putteth forth his hand upon the flinty rock; He overturneth the mountains by the roots.
೯ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕಗ್ಗಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಬುಡದ ತನಕ ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವನು.
10 He cutteth out channels among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
೧೦ಬಂಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊರೆಯುವನು; ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಣುವುದು.
11 He bindeth the streams that they trickle not; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
೧೧ನೀರಿನ ಒರತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಹೊರತರುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ತರುವನು.
12 But wisdom, where shall it be found? And where is the place of understanding?
೧೨ಜ್ಞಾನವಾದರೋ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕೀತು? ವಿವೇಕವು ದೊರೆಯುವ ಸ್ಥಳವೆಲ್ಲಿ?
13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
೧೩ಅದರ ಕ್ರಯವು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರರು.
14 The deep saith: 'It is not in me'; and the sea saith: 'It is not with me.'
೧೪ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕೆಳಗಣ ಸಾಗರವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವುದು, ಸಮುದ್ರವು, ತನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದು.
15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
೧೫ಚೊಕ್ಕ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ, ಅದರ ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೂಗುವುದು ಅಶಕ್ಯ.
16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
೧೬ಓಫೀರ್ ದೇಶದ ಅಪರಂಜಿ, ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಗೋಮೇಧಿಕ, ಇಂದ್ರನೀಲ, ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬೆಲೆ ಇಷ್ಟೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗದು.
17 Gold and glass cannot equal it; neither shall the exchange thereof be vessels of fine gold.
೧೭ಬಂಗಾರವಾಗಲಿ, ಸ್ಫಟಿಕವಾಗಲಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮವಾದೀತೇ? ಚಿನ್ನದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿಕೊಡುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ?
18 No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal; yea, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
೧೮ಜ್ಞಾನವಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹವಳವೂ, ಸ್ಫಟಿಕವೂ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮುತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ!
19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
೧೯ಕೂಷ್ ದೇಶದ ಪುಷ್ಯರಾಗವು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಟಿಯಿಲ್ಲ, ಶುದ್ಧ ಕನಕದೊಡನೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತೂಗಲಾಗದು.
20 Whence then cometh wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?
೨೦ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬರುವುದು? ವಿವೇಕವು ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರಕೀತು?
21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
೨೧ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಗೋಚರವಾಗಿದೆ, ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
22 Destruction and Death say: 'We have heard a rumor thereof with our ears.'
೨೨ನಾಶನವೂ, ಮೃತ್ಯುವೂ, ‘ಅದರ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವು.
23 God understandeth the way thereof, and He knoweth the place thereof.
೨೩ಅದರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವನು ದೇವರೇ; ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೇ ಗೊತ್ತು.
24 For He looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
೨೪ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯ ತನಕ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
25 When He maketh a weight for the wind, and meteth out the waters by measure.
೨೫ಆತನು ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ತೂಕವನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿ ನೀರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕ ಪರಿಮಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅಳತೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
26 When He made a decree for the rain, and a way for the storm of thunders;
೨೬ಮಳೆಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವ ಸಿಡಿಲಿಗೆ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದಾಗಲೇ,
27 Then did He see it, and declare it; He established it, yea, and searched it out.
೨೭ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
28 And unto man He said: 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.'
೨೮ಆಮೇಲೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ಭಯವೇ ಜ್ಞಾನ; ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವುದೇ ವಿವೇಕ’” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
