Job 24
1 Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do not they that know Him see His days?
“Sao Đấng Toàn Năng không mang kẻ ác ra xét đoán? Tại sao để người biết Chúa phải mòn mỏi chờ trông?
2 There are that remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed them.
Có kẻ gian dời đá ngăn ranh giới. Cướp bầy chiên rồi đem chúng về đồng cỏ mình.
3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.
Họ trộm lừa của người mồ côi và bắt bò của người góa bụa làm của thế chấp.
4 They turn the needy out of the way; the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
Họ đẩy người nghèo khổ khỏi đường họ đi; bắt người khốn cùng trên đất phải chạy trốn.
5 Behold, as wild asses in the wilderness they go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; the desert yieldeth them bread for their children.
Như lừa rừng trong hoang mạc, người nghèo nai lưng làm lụng kiếm ăn, tìm kiếm thức ăn cho con mình dù trong hoang mạc.
6 They cut his provender in the field; and they despoil the vineyard of the wicked.
Họ gặt hái trong đồng mình không làm chủ, và mót trái trong vườn nho của kẻ ác.
7 They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.
Suốt đêm họ trần truồng trong giá lạnh, không áo quần cũng chẳng có chăn mền.
8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
Họ ướt sũng trong mưa núi, chạy ẩn nơi núi đá vì không chỗ trú thân.
9 There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor;
Kẻ ác giật con côi khỏi vú mẹ, bắt giữ trẻ thơ làm con tin.
10 So that they go about naked without clothing, and being hungry they carry the sheaves;
Bắt người nghèo khổ ra đi không manh áo. Vác lúa nặng mà bụng vẫn đói.
11 They make oil within the rows of these men; they tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
Bắt họ ép dầu ô-liu mà không được nếm dầu, ép nho lúc khát khô cổ mà không được uống nước nho.
12 From out of the populous city men groan, and the soul of the wounded crieth out; yet God imputeth it not for unseemliness.
Người hấp hối rên la trong thành phố, hồn người bị thương kêu khóc liên hồi, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời làm ngơ tiếng than van của họ.
13 These are of them that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
Có kẻ ác nổi lên chống ánh sáng. Họ không biết hướng cũng không đi trên đường ánh sáng.
14 The murderer riseth with the light, to kill the poor and needy; and in the night he is as a thief.
Buổi sáng, kẻ giết người thức dậy tàn sát người nghèo thiếu; ban đêm, họ trở thành tay trộm cướp.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying: 'No eye shall see me'; and he putteth a covering on his face.
Mắt kẻ dâm loạn trông chờ bóng tối, nói rằng: ‘Nào ai thấy được ta.’ Họ che mặt để không ai biết họ.
16 In the dark they dig through houses; they shut themselves up in the day-time; they know not the light.
Tên trộm đột nhập vào nhà ban đêm còn ban ngày thì nằm ngủ. Họ không bao giờ hành động dưới ánh sáng.
17 For the shadow of death is to all of them as the morning; for they know the terrors of the shadow of death.
Đối với họ, đêm tối là bình minh. Vì họ làm bạn với hãi hùng của bóng tối.
18 He is swift upon the face of the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth; he turneth not by the way of the vineyards.
Nhưng họ sẽ biến mất như bọt trên mặt nước. Mọi thứ của họ sẽ bị nguyền rủa, và họ sợ hãi không bước vào vườn nho.
19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the nether-world those that have sinned. (Sheol h7585)
Như nắng hạn nuốt hết nước chứa trong kho tuyết, âm phủ cũng nuốt bọn người tội ác. (Sheol h7585)
20 The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree.
Chính mẹ của họ cũng sẽ quên họ. Giòi bọ ăn nuốt thịt họ. Không ai còn tưởng nhớ họ nữa. Kẻ bất công, áp bức sẽ gãy đổ như cây khô.
21 He devoureth the barren that beareth not; and doeth not good to the widow.
Họ bạc đãi người đàn bà son sẻ, từ chối giúp đỡ các góa phụ yếu đuối.
22 He draweth away the mighty also by his power; he riseth up, and he trusteth not his own life.
Trong năng quyền Đức Chúa Trời, Ngài tiêu diệt kẻ bạo tàn. Khi Ngài ra tay, họ không còn hy vọng sống.
23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth, yet His eyes are upon their ways.
Chúa cho họ được an ninh, nhưng thật ra, Đức Chúa Trời vẫn để mắt theo dõi họ.
24 They are exalted for a little while, and they are gone; yea, they are brought low, they are gathered in as all others, and wither as the tops of the ears of corn.
Họ được trọng vọng trong chốc lát, nhưng rồi bị tiêu diệt như muôn nghìn người khác, như lúa bị cắt trong mùa gặt.
25 And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
Ai có thể bảo đây là lời dối? Ai có thể đánh đổ lý luận của tôi?”
