Job 24

1 Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do not they that know Him see His days?

۱ «چونکه زمانها از قادرمطلق مخفی نیست. پس چرا عارفان او ایام او راملاحظه نمی کنند؟

2 There are that remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed them.

۲ بعضی هستند که حدود رامنتقل می‌سازند و گله‌ها را غصب نموده، می‌چرانند.

3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.

۳ الاغهای یتیمان را می‌رانند و گاوبیوه‌زنان را به گرو می‌گیرند.

4 They turn the needy out of the way; the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

۴ فقیران را از راه منحرف می‌سازند، و مسکینان زمین جمیع خویشتن را پنهان می‌کنند.

5 Behold, as wild asses in the wilderness they go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; the desert yieldeth them bread for their children.

۵ اینک مثل خروحشی به جهت کار خود به بیابان بیرون رفته، خوراک خود را می‌جویند و صحرا به ایشان نان برای فرزندان ایشان می‌رساند.

6 They cut his provender in the field; and they despoil the vineyard of the wicked.

۶ علوفه خود را درصحرا درو می‌کنند و تاکستان شریران راخوشه چینی می‌نمایند.

7 They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.

۷ برهنه و بی‌لباس شب رابه‌سر می‌برند و در سرما پوششی ندارند.

8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

۸ ازباران کوهها تر می‌شوند و از عدم پناهگاه، صخره‌ها را در بغل می‌گیرند

9 There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor;

۹ و کسانی هستند که یتیم را از پستان می‌ربایند و از فقیر گرو می‌گیرند.

10 So that they go about naked without clothing, and being hungry they carry the sheaves;

۱۰ پس ایشان بی‌لباس و برهنه راه می‌روند وبافه‌ها را برمی دارند و گرسنه می‌مانند.

11 They make oil within the rows of these men; they tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

۱۱ دردروازه های آنها روغن می‌گیرند و چرخشت آنهارا پایمال می‌کنند و تشنه می‌مانند.

12 From out of the populous city men groan, and the soul of the wounded crieth out; yet God imputeth it not for unseemliness.

۱۲ ازشهرآباد، نعره می‌زنند و جان مظلومان استغاثه می‌کند. اما خدا حماقت آنها را به نظر نمی آورد.

13 These are of them that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

۱۳ «و دیگرانند که از نور متمردند و راه آن رانمی دانند. و در طریق هایش سلوک نمی نمایند.

14 The murderer riseth with the light, to kill the poor and needy; and in the night he is as a thief.

۱۴ قاتل در صبح برمی خیزد و فقیر و مسکین رامی کشد. و در شب مثل دزد می‌شود.

15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying: 'No eye shall see me'; and he putteth a covering on his face.

۱۵ چشم زناکار نیز برای شام انتظار می‌کشد و می‌گوید که چشمی مرا نخواهد دید، و بر روی خود پرده می‌کشد.

16 In the dark they dig through houses; they shut themselves up in the day-time; they know not the light.

۱۶ در تاریکی به خانه‌ها نقب می‌زنند ودر روز، خویشتن را پنهان می‌کنند و روشنایی رانمی دانند،

17 For the shadow of death is to all of them as the morning; for they know the terrors of the shadow of death.

۱۷ زیرا صبح برای جمیع ایشان مثل سایه موت است، چونکه ترسهای سایه موت رامی دانند.

18 He is swift upon the face of the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth; he turneth not by the way of the vineyards.

۱۸ آنها بر روی آبها سبک‌اند و نصیب ایشان بر زمین ملعون است، و به راه تاکستان مراجعت نمی کنند.

19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the nether-world those that have sinned. (Sheol h7585)

۱۹ چنانکه خشکی و گرمی آب برف را نابود می‌سازد، همچنین هاویه خطاکاران را. (Sheol h7585)

20 The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree.

۲۰ رحم (مادرش ) او را فراموش می‌نماید و کرم، او را نوش می‌کند. و دیگر مذکورنخواهد شد، و شرارت مثل درخت بریده خواهدشد.

21 He devoureth the barren that beareth not; and doeth not good to the widow.

۲۱ زن عاقر را که نمی زاید می‌بلعد و به زن بیوه احسان نمی نماید،

22 He draweth away the mighty also by his power; he riseth up, and he trusteth not his own life.

۲۲ و اما خدا جباران را به قوت خود محفوظ می‌دارد. برمی خیزند اگرچه امید زندگی ندارند،

23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth, yet His eyes are upon their ways.

۲۳ ایشان را اطمینان می‌بخشد و بر آن تکیه می‌نمایند، اما چشمان اوبر راههای ایشان است.

24 They are exalted for a little while, and they are gone; yea, they are brought low, they are gathered in as all others, and wither as the tops of the ears of corn.

۲۴ اندک زمانی بلندمی شوند، پس نیست می‌گردند و پست شده، مثل سایرین برده می‌شوند و مثل سر سنبله‌ها بریده می‌گردند،

25 And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

۲۵ و اگر چنین نیست پس کیست که مراتکذیب نماید و کلام مرا ناچیز گرداند؟»
